Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini diharapkan masyarakat dapat meningkatkan konsumsi ikan, mengingat ikan memiliki berbagai sumberber zat gizi yang penting bagi tumbuh kembang anak.----------Toddler age is an important period in the process of human life. At this time, toddlers experience accelerated growth or often known as growth spurt. When a toddler experiences growth spurt, cells in the body will develop faster so food selection is important for the fulfillment of nutrition to support the growth spurt process. Fish consumption is an alternative because fish contain omega 3 which can help the intelligence of children. The purpose of this study was to determine the frequency of consumption, types of fish consumed and the contribution of fish to the adequacy of protein in toddlers. The research method used is descriptive research with a cross-sectional design. The sampling technique is simple random sampling with 92 respondents. The instruments were semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaires and 48-hour recall. The results showed the frequency of fish consumption more than half did not consume freshwater (77%) and seawater fish (84%). The most frequently consumed fish are tilapia, as many as 86% of respondents have consumed tilapia at a frequency of 3-4 times per week, as many as 17% of respondents; frequency 1 time per week 51% of respondents; and once a month 17% of respondents. The contribution value of fish protein adequacy at the age of 1-3 years is 12% and at the age of 4 years, it is 8.1% which can be interpreted that the consumption of under five fish at the age of 1-3 years and 4 years is not giving a good contribution to the adequacy of daily protein. the results of this study are expected by the community to be able to increase fish consumption, considering that fish have a variety of nutritious sources that are important for children's growth and development.
