    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh need to belong terhadap presentasi diri, harga diri terhadap presentasi diri, dan need to belong secara bersama-sama dengan harga diri terhadap presentasi diri pada remaja pengguna instagram. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan partisipan sejumlah 346 remaja pengguna instagram di SMA Kota Bandung, berusia 15 sampai 18 tahun. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah Need to Belong Scale (Leary M. R, 2013) untuk mengukur need to belong, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (Rosenberg, 1965) untuk mengukur harga diri, dan Self-Presentations Tactics Scale (Lee., dkk, 1999) untuk mengukur presentasi diri. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah regresi linear dan regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) terdapat pengaruh signifikan need to belong terhadap presentasi diri; 2) tidak terdapat pengaruh harga diri terhadap presentasi diri; dan 3) terdapat pengaruh signifikan need to belong dan harga diri terhadap presentasi diri, secara bersama-sama memiliki kontribusi sebesar 2,6% terhadap presentasi diri. ..... This study aims at determining the effects of need to belong on self-presentation, self-esteem towards self-presentation, also need-to-belong concurrently with self-esteem toward self-presentation of the adolescents who use Instagram. This study employed quantitative method with participants consisting of 346 adolescents Instagram users in senior high schools in Bandung, aged 15 to 18. The instruments used were Need to Belong Scale (Leary M. R, 2013) to measure the need-belong, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (Rosenberg, 1965) for the self-esteem measurement, and Self-Presentations Tactics Scale (Lee., Et al, 1999) to measure the self-presentation. Data analysis technique applied was linear regression and multiple regression. The research results show that 1) there is a significant effect of the need to belong on self presentation; 2) there is no effect of self-esteem on self presentation; and 3) there is a meaningful effect of need to belong and self-esteem towards self-presentation, both of them have 2,6% of contribution to the self-presentation.
