Abstract

Bunga Edelweis (Anaphalis javanica) merupakan bunga khas pegunungan yang tidak boleh dipetik dan terancam punah. Edelweis dilindungi oleh undang-undang di Indonesia. Mencabut Edelweis tanpa izin bisa terancam hukuman sesuai UU Nomor 5 Tahun 1990 Tentang Konservasi Sumber Daya Hayati dan Ekosistem pasal 33 ayat 1. Edelweis juga sering disebut bunga abadi. Kecantikan dan karakteristik bunga Edelweis telah menginspirasi penulis untuk menciptakan round-weaving tapestry. Pada karya ini penulis ingin menampilkan kesan atau nuansa warna dari bunga Edelweis itu sendiri. Warna yang digunakan adalah putih/broken white, cream, dan beige, dengan sentuhan warna kuning, oranye, hijau, dan coklat muda sebagai pelengkap. Material bahan yang digunakan adalah dari serat alam yaitu tali goni dan kain goni, dan serat buatan yaitu benang katun, sakura milk cotton, polycherry, loopy, wol, bulky, dan rug. Pemakaian serat alami dilakukan untuk memberikan kesan natural. Karya yang penulis ciptakan terdiri dari enam round-weaving tapestry dengan ukuran yang variatif. Penulis mengaplikasikan teknik tenun tapestri corak rata, soumak, giordes, sambungan kait dan sambungan kilim. Metode penciptaan yang digunakan adalah Practice-led Research. Karya round-weaving tapestry ini diharapkan dapat menginspirasi siapa saja dan menjadi inovasi dalam menciptakan karya selanjutnya. Kata Kunci: Round-Weaving Tapestry, Tapestri, Edelweis ------ Edelweiss is the unique mountain flowers that should not be picked and almost extinct. Edelweiss also protected by law in Indonesia. Picking Edelweiss without permission may be punished according to Law Number 5 of 1990 concerning Conservation of Biological Resources and Ecosystems clause 33 paragraph 1. Edelweiss is also called the eternal flower (everlasting flower). The beauty and characteristics of Edelweiss have inspired me to create round-weaving tapestry. In this artwork, I want to describe the impression or color nuance of the Edelweiss flower itself. The colors used are white/broken white, cream, and beige, with a touch of yellow, orange, green, and soft brown as a complement. The material used is from natural fibers namely burlap rope and burlap fabric, and synthetic fibers namely cotton yarn, milk cotton sakura, polycherry, loopy, wool, bulky, and rug. The use of natural fibers is done to give a natural impression. The artwork that I created consists of six round-weaving tapestry of various sizes. The techniques used are flat style, soumak style, kilim style, giordes style, and hooks style. The creation method used is Practice-led Research. This round-weaving tapestry is expected to inspire anyone and become an innovation in creating the next artwork. Keyword: Round-Weaving Tapestry, Tapestry, Edelweiss
