Abstract

Skripsi ini berjudul “Proses Penciptaan Tari Banyu Kahuripan di Sanggar Kurawa
Merdeka Kabupaten Bandung Barat”. Tari Banyu Kahuripan diciptakan Oleh Asri
Puspitaning Arum, tarian ini termasuk jenis tari berkelompok rumpun tari kreasi baru
yang bersumber dari tari rakyat Sunda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh
gambaran secara menyeluruh tentang proses penciptaan tari, penyajian gerak, rias,
busana dan properti. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode
deskriptif analisis. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara,
dokumentasi dan studi pustaka. Analisis yang dilakukan secara deskriptif kualitatif
dengan triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tari Banyu Kahuripan
merupakan garapan yang dilatarbelakangi oleh lingkungan yang ada di Kabupaten
Bandung Barat. Gerak yang disajikan merupakan menggambarkan kebiasaan
masyarakat daerah saat mengambil air dari mata air. Rias yang digunakan adalah rias
cantik. Bagian busana yang digunakan merupakan kreasi pencipta yang memadukan
berbagai kostum dan ciri khas tarian tersebut dapat terlihat dari asesoris pada bagian rok
menggunakan sinjang batik motif khas Bandung Barat. Kesimpulannya Tari Banyu
Kahuripan merupakan wujud pengaplikasian tari kreasi baru yang didasari dari
lingkungan kabupaten Bandung Barat dimana daerah yang memiliki banyak sumber air.;--- The essay is about “The Process Creating of Banyu Kahuripan Dance in Sanggar
Kurawa Merdeka West Bandung Regency”. The main interviwees in this research is
Asri Puspitaning Arum as the creator of Banyu Kahuripan dance. Banyu Kahuripan
dance is a group dance which is new creation dance sub-dance that based on sundanese
folk dance. The purpose of this research is to gain a complete description about Banyu
Kahuripan dance. The description is obatained trough the analysis from background of
the dance creating process, movement performance, make up, costume and property
then describe trough in-depth study. The method that used in this research is descriptive
analysis method. Researcher run the data collection technique with observation,
interview, documentation and literature study. The analysis used a qualitative
descriptive with triangulation. The research result showing that Banyu Kahuripan dance
is dance creating process based the environment that exists in West Bandung regency.
The presentated movement is describing the habits of the people when taking water
from the water. The make up that used is corrective make up, and the costume is the
creation of the creator herself that combines various costumes. The characteristic of
accessories on the part of the skirt using sinjang batik motifs typical of west Bandung.
In conclusion, Banyu Kahuripan dance is a manifestation of the application of dance
new creations based on the environment of west Bandung regency which is in the area
has a lot of water.
