    Abstract

    Pada penelitian ini telah dilakukan pengembangan aplikasi sensor Giant Magnetoresistance (GMR) untuk alat ukur
    daya listrik. Sensor GMR merupakan salah satu jenis sensor magnetik yang mengalami efek magnetoresistansi,
    yakni mengalami perubahan besar hambatan ketika mendeteksi medan magnetik luar. Medan magnet sendiri dapat
    diperoleh dari magnet permanen atau pengukuran arus listrik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan maksud untuk
    mengaplikasikan sensor GMR sebagai pengukur arus listrik, yang akan menjadi bagian dari sistem pengukur daya
    listrik dengan medium arus berupa variasi jumlah lilitan kumparan di sekitar sensor GMR. Karaktersasi sensor
    GMR yang dilakukan meninjau pada jangkauan pengukuran dan sensitivitas respon sensor. Dari hasil pengukuran
    arus listrik dalam jangkauan 0,01 A sampai 5,00 A DC, diperoleh untuk data lilitan keempat (N=4) keadaan jenuh
    pengukuran dimulai pada nilai arus 3,74 A, data lilitan kelima (N=5) pada arus 2,74 A, dan data lilitan keenam
    (N=6) pada nilai arus 2,33 A. Sementara untuk karakteristik sensitivitas, pengukuran menggunakan medium lilitan
    tunggal (N=1) memiliki nilai sensitivitas 7,58 mV.A-1
    , sensitivitas untuk dua lilitan (N=2) adalah 25,81 mV.A-1
    ,
    tiga lilitan (N=3) adalah 52,35 mV.A-1
    , empat lilitan (N=4) adalah 88,97 mV.A-1
    , lima lilitan (N=5) adalah 116,21
    mV.A-1
    , dan nilai sensitivitas data lilitan keenam sebesar 128,76 mV.A-1
    . Dari hasil penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa
    sensor GMR dapat diaplikasikan sebagai basis dalam sistem pengukuran daya listrik, dengan penambahan jumlah
    lilitan akan berdampak pada semakin sempitnya jangkauan pengukuran sensor GMR namun semakin tinggi
    senstivitas respon sensor, begitu pun sebaliknya.-----------We have developed the used of Giant Magnetoresistance (GMR) sensor application for electric power measuring
    device. GMR is one type of magnetic sensor that has a large change resistance when detecting an external magnetic
    field. The magnetic field itself can be obtained from a permanent magnet or electric current measurement. This
    study was intending to use GMR sensor for measuring electric current which then become the part of electrical
    power measuring system. The variation number of coil wrapped around the GMR sensor used as the current medium.
    From the measurement of 0.01 A to 5.00 A electrical current range, we obtained for the fourth coil data (N = 4) the
    saturation condition occurred at 3.74 A current value, the fifth coil data (N = 5) at 3.74 A, and for the sixth coil data
    (N = 6) at 2.33 A current value. While for sensitivity characteristic, the measurement using single coil (N = 1) has
    7.58 mV.A-1
    sensitivity value, the sensitivity for two coil data (N = 2) was 25.81 mV.A-1
    , the third coil (N = 3) has
    52.35 mV.A-1
    , the fourth coil (N = 4) has 88.97 mV.A-1 , the fifth coil (N = 5) has 116.21 mV.A-1
    , and the sixth coil
    has 128.76 mV.A-1
    sensitivity value. As the results of this study we found that the GMR sensor can be applied as a
    base in the electrical power measurement system, with the addition of coil number would have an impact on the
    narrower measurement range of GMR sensor but the higher the sensor response sensitivity, and vice versa.
