Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan toponimi kampung, pola pemberian nama tempat di Kecamatan Banjar Kota Banjar dan jadi alternatif bahan pembelajaran membaca deskripsi di kelas IX SMP. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Adapun tehnik yang digunakan ialah tehnik observasi, tehnik wawancara, tehnik dokumentasi, dan tehnik studi pustaka. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut: Pertama, mendeskripsikan toponimi kampung yang di ambil dari lingkungan disekelilingnya seperti nama kampung yang berawalan “ci” serta dari kejadian-kejadian yang pernah ada di tempat tersebut. Kedua, pola pemberian nama tempat di Kecamatan Banjar Kota Banjar yang dikelompokkan ke dalam dua aspek yaitu aspek fisikal dan aspek non fisikal. Ada 61% nama tempat yang termasuk kedalam aspek fisikal, 39% nama tempat yang termasak ke dalam aspek non fisikal, dalam pengelompokkan nama tempat tersebut, terdapat beberapa nama tempat yang termasuk ke dalam dua aspek. Ketiga, ada sepuluh toponimi kampung di Kecamatan Banjar Kota Banjar yang bisa dijadikan alternatif bahan pembelajaran membaca deskripsi di kelas IX SMP. ---This study aims to describe village toponyms and patterns of giving the name of a place in Banjar district as an alternative learning material to read folklores and description in 9th-grade junior high school students. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method. The technique used is by observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review techniques. The results of this study are as follows: First, describing village toponyms taken from the surrounding environment such as the name of the village beginning with "Ci" and from the events that ever existed on the site. Second, the pattern of naming a place in the district of Banjar that is categorized into two aspects: the physical and non-physical aspects. There is 61% of place names that are included in the physical aspect, and 39% belong to the non-physical aspects. In the classification of the place names, there are some place names that belong to the two aspects. Third, there are ten folklores from the village district toponyms of Banjar, which could be an alternative learning material for reading description 9th-grade junior high school students.
