Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui lebih mendalam kondisi sosial budaya terhadap pendidikan yang ada di Desa Gelok Mulya khususnya permasalahan anak putus sekolah, karena masih terdapat banyaknya anak putus sekolah sehingga perlu adanya kajian lebih lanjut mengenai permasalahan ini. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Gelok Mulya Kecamatan Sumberjaya Kabupaten Majalengka. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa: (1) Interaksi sosial yang positif antara anak putus sekolah dengan orang tua dan teman sebaya kurang terjalin secara intensif; (2) Anak putus sekolah memperbaiki dan meningkatkan taraf dengan merantau ke kota lain untuk bekerja bukan dengan meningkatkan pendidikannya; (3) Anak putus sekolah berasal dari keluarga dengan ekonomi menengah ke bawah; (4) Masyarakat lebih mementingkan mencari pekerjaan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidup sehari-hari daripada untuk memperoleh pendidikan tinggi; (5) Masyarakat Desa Gelok Mulya yang berpendidikan tinggi jumlahnya masih sangat rendah. Dampak yang dirasakan oleh anak putus sekolah adalah rendahnya rasa percaya diri anak yang bersangkutan, sedangkan dampak bagi lingkungan sosial adalah membawa pengaruh negatif yang dapat menurunkan motivasi anak-anak lain untuk melanjutkan pendidikan. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan anak putus sekolah, pemerintah setempat mensosialisasikan kepada masyarakat mengenai pentingnya pendidikan dan mensosialisasikan program kejar paket.;---The purpose of this study is to find out and to analyze deeply the socio-cultural conditions on education in Gelok Mulya Village especially concerning school dropouts children problem, for there are still many children drop out of school so the writer considered that further study on this issue is needed. This research was conducted in Gelok Mulya Village , Sumberjaya District Majalengka Regency. This research used qualitative approach and case study method. Data collection is conducted by interview, observation, and documentation study. The results showed that: (1) Positive social interaction between drop-out children with parents and peers is less intensive; (2) School dropouts make an effort to increase their social level by moving to other cities for work instead of improving their education; (3) School dropouts children come from lower middle class economic families; (4) The community is more concerned with finding a job for their subsistence than to obtain higher education; (5) The rate of Gelok Mulya villagers with high education are still very low. The impact felt by school dropouts children is the low self-esteem and confidence, while the impact of droup out children on the social environment is tend to bring negative influences that can degrade the motivation of other children to continue their education. To overcome the problem of drop out children, local government continue to socialize the importance of education and socialize the Kejar Paket Program.
