Abstract

Kebun Raya Cibodas adalah salah satu kebun raya yang ada di Indonesia yang dikelola oleh Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (LIPI). merupakan salah satu objek wisata yang berfokus pada upaya konservasi, penelitian, pendidikan rekreasi, dan jasa lingkungan. Berkenaan dengan tugas tersebut Kebun Raya Cibodas menyelenggarakan kegiatan yang dinamakan Pepeling (Pelayanan Pendidikan Lingkungan). Pelayanan pendidikan lingkungan (Pepeling) diharapkan menjadi salah satu solusi dalam upaya pemahaman dan pengetahuan terhadap pentingnya menjaga kelestarian lingkungan dan mengenalkan tentang kearifan menjaga lingkungan khususnya kepada anak didik, maupun kepada masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan utamanya untuk mengkaji fungsi wisata edukasi dari daya tarik Kebun Raya Cibodas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah survey dan deskripstif dengan pengambilan sampel secara aksidental. Teknik yang digunakan yaitu analisis persentase, nilai kemenarikan dan skala likert. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Kebun Raya Cibodas memiliki daya tarik wisata edukasi yang kuat bagi wisatawan, nilai edukasi mengenai pengetahuan wisatawan akan jenis keanekaragaman flora masih rendah, dikarenakan jenis flora yang terdapat di Kebun Raya Cibodas cukup banyak jumlahnya. Untuk karakteristik wisatawan yang mengunjungi Kebun Raya Cibodas di dominasi oleh usia remaja dan dewasa dengan jenis kelamin sebagian besar perempuan. Asal wisatawan mayoritas berasal dari cianjur, Tingkat pendidikan wisatawan SMA dan Perguruan tinggi, jenis pekerjaan di dominasi oleh pelajar dan mahasiswa. Adapun yang perlu diperbaiki adalah kondisi sarana dan prasarana papan informasi demi menunjangnya kegiatan pelayanan pendidikan lingkungan bagi wisatawan.

ABSTRACT

Cibodas Botanical Garden is one of the botanical gardens in Indonesia which is managed by the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI). It is one of the attractions that focus on conservation, research, recreational education, and environmental services. With regard to the task, Cibodas Botanical Garden organizes an activity called Pepeling (Environmental Education Service). Environmental education services (Pepeling) is expected to be one solution in the effort of understanding and knowledge of the importance of preserving the environment and introducing about the wisdom of protecting the environment, especially to students , as well as to the community. This study aims primarily to examine the function of educational tourism from the appeal of the Botanical Garden Cibodas. The research method used is survey and descriptive with accidental sampling. The techniques used are percentage analysis, attractiveness value and likert scale. The results showed that Cibodas Botanical Garden has a strong tourist attraction for tourists, the value of education about the knowledge of tourists will be the type of diversity of flora is still low, because the type of flora contained in the Botanical Gardens Cibodas quite a lot. For the characteristics of tourists visiting the Botanical Garden Cibodas dominated by the age of teens and adults with the gender of most women. The origin of majority tourists comes from cianjur, the level of education of high school and college tourists, the type of work dominated by students and students. As for what needs to be improved is the condition of facilities and infrastructure information board to support environmental education services for tourists.
