Abstract

Tanaman obat adalah tanaman yang memiliki khasiat yang bekerja sebagai antioksidan, antiradang, analgesik, dan lain-lain yang digunakan untuk penyembuhan suatu penyakit. Beberapa penelitian menyatakan bahwa beberapa tanaman memiliki kemampuan farmakologis. Analisis fenetik berdasarkan urutan basa daerah Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS) secara In silico telah dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan kekerabatan antara tanaman obat dan non obat. Selain itu, analisis ini pun bertujuan untuk mengetahui fungsinya dari suatu tanaman. Sebanyak 60 data sekuen DNA daerah ITS (ITS1, 5,8S, ITS2 dan keseluruhan daerah ITS) dari GenBank digunakan dalam analisis ini. Ke-60 data sekuen tersebut terdiri dari 42 spesies tanaman obat dan 18 spesies tanaman non obat yang merupakan famili dari Orchidaceae. Seluruh data sekuen disejajarkan dengan program ClustalX kemudian diperiksa secara manual dengan bantuan program MEGA versi 4. Hasil penyajajaran dipakai untuk membangun pohon fenetik dengan program MEGA versi 4 dan dengan metode UPGMA (Unweighted Pair Group with Mean Arithmetic). Pohon fenetik yang terbentuk, dapat membagi kelompok tanaman obat dengan tanaman non obat. Medicinal plants have properties that work as antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and others used for the healing of a disease. Some studies suggest that some plants have pharmacological abilities. Phenetic analysis based on base sequence of Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS) region by In silico has been done to find out the relationship between medicinal and non-medicinal plants. In addition, this analysis also aims to determine the function of a plant. A total of 60 DNA sequences of the ITS region (ITS1, 5,8S, ITS2 and overall ITS areas) of GenBank were used in this analysis. The 60 sequence data consisted of 42 species of medicinal plants and 18 species of non-medicinal plants belonging to the family of Orchidaceae. All sequence data is aligned with the ClustalX program and then manually checked with the help of the MEGA version 4 program. The presentation result is used to build phenetic tree with MEGA program version 4 and with UPGMA (Unweighted Pair Group with Mean Arithmetic) method. The phenetic tree formed divide the group of medicinal plants with non-medicinal plants.
