Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi karena peneliti tertarik untuk meneliti lebih lanjut mengenai sejauh mana peningkatkan pendidikan karakter peduli lingkungan melalui program gerakan pungut sampah di sekolah. Dimana sebelum adanya program gerakan pungut sampah, para siswa kurang memiiki kesadaran terhadap lingkungan sekitar terutama dalam hal menjaga kebersihan di sekolah. Kebiasaan siswa yang kurang terjaga dalam hal kebersihan baik diri sendiri maupun lingkungan sangat berpotensi penyebaran penyakit. Dari sinilah perlu adanya penerapan disiplin dan sikap peduli siswa terhadap lingkungan terutama membuang sampah pada tempatnya. Dari pemaparan tersebut maka tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu (1) Mengetahui Implementasi Pendidikan Karakter Peduli Lingkungan Melalui Program GPS di Sekolah, (2) Mengetahui hasil pendidikan karakter peduli lingkungan dalam program GPS di sekolah, (3) Mengidentifikasi kendala yang dihadapi dalam pelaksanaan program Implementasi Pendidikan Karakter Peduli Lingkungan Melalui Program GPS di Sekolah. (4) Mengidentifikasi upaya yang dilakukan dalam menghadapi pelaksanaan program Implementasi Pendidikan Karakter Peduli Lingkungan Melalui Program GPS di Sekolah. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan mix metode dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa (1) dalam proses pelaksanaan implementasi pendidikan karakter peduli lingkungan melalui program GPS terlaksana dengan baik. Hal ini dapat di lihat dengan adanya peningkatan dari diri siswa untuk ikut serta menjaga kebersihan lingkungan sekolah dalam upaya tindakan nyata melalui tingkah laku yang baik serta bertanggung jawab untuk menjaga lingkungan tempat tinggal, (2) bukti adanya pendidikan karakter peduli lingkungan terlihat dari meningkatnya kesadaran siswa yang baik dalam menjaga kebersihan lingkungan sekolah, (3) kendala yang ditemui dalam program GPS seperti kurang baiknya komunikasi antara siswa dan guru, semangat siswa yang tidak stabil, sarana dan pra sarana yang masih belum mendukung dari pihak sekolah, (4) upaya untuk mengatasi kendala tersebut yaitu dengan memberikan motivasi kepada siswa untuk menjaga kebersihan lingkungan sekolah, menciptakan program pendukung dalam menjaga peningkatkan karakter peduli lingkungan siswa, dan menyediakan fasilitas program GPS di sekolah. This research is motivated for researchers interested in studying more about the extent to which increasing environmental awareness through the character education program at school movement garbage collected. Where before their garbage picked motion program, students are less memiiki awareness about the environment, especially in terms of maintaining hygiene in schools. Habits students who are less well maintained in terms of cleanliness and the environment itself is a potential spread of disease. From this need for the implementation of student discipline and caring attitude towards the environment, especially dispose of waste in place. Of the presentation, the purpose of this study are (1) Determine the implementation of Character Education Environmental Care Program Through GPS in Schools, (2) Knowing the results of character education environmental awareness in the GPS program at the school, (3) identify the obstacles encountered in the implementation of the program implementation Environmental Concern Character Education Program Through GPS in School. (4) Identify efforts made in dealing with the implementation of the program Implementation of Environmental Concern Character Education Program Through GPS in School. The method used in this research is using mixed methods with qualitative and quantitative approaches. The findings of this study indicate that (1) in the implementation process of implementation of character education environmental awareness through GPS programs are carried out. This can be seen by the increase of the students to participate keeping the environment of the school in an effort to concrete actions through good behavior and is responsible for keeping the living environment, (2) evidence of character education environmental awareness can be seen from the increasing awareness of students which is excellent in maintaining the cleanliness of the school environment, (3) the constraints encountered in the GPS program such as lack of good communication between students and teachers, the enthusiasm the students unstable, facilities and pre means are still not in favor of the schools, (4) an attempt to overcome these obstacles is to give motivation to students to keep the school environment, creating a support program in maintaining the character enhancing environmental awareness of students, and provide school facilities in the GPS program.
