Abstract

Penelitian ini bertolak dari ketertarikan peneliti terhadap pengembangan materi sejarah dalam buku teks sebagai bahan pembelajaran IPS bagi siswa di jenjang SMA, yang isinya tidak banyak mengalami perubahan dari waktu ke waktu, serta tidak dibedakan peruntukannya bagi siswa yang memiliki kemampuan intelektual di atas rata-rata dengan siswa biasa (rata-rata). Siswa dengan kemampuan di atas rata-rata perlu diberi materi pelajaran yang ‘lebih’, agar potensi dirinya dapat tergali secara optimal. Oleh sebab itu, peneliti berupaya mengembangkan salah satu topik yang menurut peneliti sangat penting untuk dipelajari siswa, namun tidak banyak disinggung dalam buku pegangan mereka yakni tentang masa revolusi kemerdekaan di Yogyakarta tahun 1945-1950. Pertanyaan penelitian yang diajukan adalah: 1) Bagaimana upaya dari bangsa Indonesia, khususnya mereka yang berada di Yogyakarta dalam mempertahankan kemerdekaan selama masa revolusi tahun 1945-1950?. 2) Bagaimana kelayakan materi sejarah tentang peranan Yogyakarta dalam masa revolusi kemedekaan tahun 1945-1950 dikembangkan sebagai enrichment pembelajaran sejarah bagi siswa SMA?. 3) Bagaimana relevansi pembelajaran sejarah tentang peranan Yogyakarta dalam masa revolusi kemerdekaan tahun 1945-1950 sebagai enrichment di SMA?. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengolahan data dari mulai reduksi data, mengajukan data, melakukan verifikasi, dan menyimpulkan, semua hanya menggunakan analisis deskripsi interpretasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Peristiwa yang berlangsung di Yogyakarta selama revolusi kemerdekaan penting menjadi salah satu materi ajar sejarah karena sarat dengan nilai-nilai kehidupan bagi generasi penerus; 2) Materi yang berhasil dikembangkan memiliki keluasan dan kedalaman yang memadai sebab hal itu relevan sebagai enrichment pembelajaran sejarah; dan 3) dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan kajian bagi pengembangan kurikulum pendidikan sejarah baik di perguruan tinggi maupun jenjang persekolahan. Sementara itu, salah satu rekomendasi adalah: hasil penelitian ini perlu diimplementasikan ke SMA unggulan lainnya, untuk melihat kelayakan dan relevansinya sebagai enrichment agar semakin kuat. ;--- This study is derived from the interest of the researcher to improve the quality of the historical material in the textbooks of social studies lesson for students at high school levels, based on the existing condition that the contents have not been changing significantly from time to time, and do not distinguish the designation for students whose intellectual capacity are above or on the average regular students. Students with intelligence capacities above the average should be given the more challenging subject matter, in order to uncover optimally their potential capacity. Therefore, the researcher is trying hard to develop one of the topics that the researcher feels essential for the students to learn, but this material is hardly mentioned in the handbook of History, it is about the Independence Revolution in the years 1945-1950 in Yogyakarta. The research questions posed in the study are: 1) what were the efforts of the Indonesian people, especially those who were in Yogyakarta, in maintaining independence during the revolution of 1945 to 1950?. 2) how was the feasibility of historical material about the role of Yogyakarta in an independence revolutionary period in the years 1945-1950 developed as the enrichment of teaching history for high school students?. 3) what is the relevance of learning the history of the role of Yogyakarta in an independence revolutionary period of the years 1945-1950 as an enrichment in high school?. This study has used a qualitative approach during the whole processing of the data, beginning from the data reduction, submission and verification, until conclusion, and used only description analysis interpretation. The results showed that: 1) event that took place in Yogyakarta during the revolution is important to be considered as one of history teaching materials because it is loaded with the support values of life for future generations; 2) the material successfully developed has sufficient breadth and depth, so that it is suitable for the relevance of the enrichment of teaching history; and 3) it can be used as study materials for curriculum development in History both in the universities and formal schooling levels. One recommendation from the study is that the results of this study need to be implemented to the other leading high schools, to provide stronger feasibility and relevance to the material so it can undoubtedly be considered as high qualified enrichment materials.
