Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh minat yang timbul saat memutuskan melanjutkan pendidikan atau tidak. Seorang siswa memutuskan untuk melanjutkan atau tidak dapat dikarenakan berbagai macam faktor. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui minat siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri (SMPN) di Kabupaten Subang melanjutkan ke jenjang pendidikan yang lebih tinggi dilihat dari beberapa faktor seperti faktor jasmaniah atau kondisi fisik, intelegensi, bakat, motivasi, kondisi sosial ekonomi orang tua, dan teman sebaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan jenis deskriptif. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 330 orang siswa SMPN di Kabupaten Subang. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah statistika deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa minat melanjutkan studi sangat tinggi dan tingginya minat tersebut di dorong oleh faktor jasmaniah atau kondisi fisik yang baik, intelegensi yang cukup tinggi, bakat yang positif, motivasi yang tinggi, dan teman sebaya yang positif. Sedangkan kondisi sosial ekonomi orang tuang berada pada kondisi rata-rata dengan penghasilan perbulan orang tua kurang lebih Rp 1.000.000 sampai Rp 2.500.000.l;--- This research is motivated by an interest arise when students deciding to continue their education or not. There are some various factors that can be a reason for student to decide that. This study aims to determine the interest of students of junior high school in Subang to continue toward higher education which could be seen from several factors such as physical condition, intelligence, talent, motivation, socio-economic condition of parents, and peers. This study used survey method with descriptive type. Subjects numbered 330 students in Subang. Data analysis technique used is descriptive statistics. The result showed that a very high interest in continuing studies and the high interest driven by good physical factors or physical condition, high intelligence, positive talent, hight motivation, and positive peers can stimulant the high the high interest in continuing studies of students. Students also can be better prepared to face a new level that will be lived. Whereas the socio-economic condition of parents are in average condition with parents monthly income of Rp 1.000.000 to Rp 2.500.000.
