Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pembelajaran yang umumnya masih berfokus kepada guru dan kurang melatih kemampuan siswa untuk memecahkan masalah dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh informasi mengenai proses dan hasil pembelajaran berbasis masalah tipe Mothes dalam konteks pencemaran air sungai akibat limbah pemukiman. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah one-group pretest-posttest design, dengan subyek penelitian adalah siswa SMA kelas XI MIPA di salah satu SMA di Kota Bandung yang berjumlah 27 orang. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan meliputi format penilaian kinerja guru, format penilaian LKS, lembar observasi sikap dan kinerja siswa, dan butir soal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlaksanaan pembelajaran berbasis masalah tipe Mothes pada konteks pencemaran air sungai akibat limbah pemukiman ditinjau dari kinerja guru dikategorikan sangat baik (94,3%) dan kinerja siswa dikategorikan sangat baik (92,3%). Hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan konsep siswa dengan menggunakan pembelajaran berbasis masalah tipe Mothes dalam konteks pencemaran air sungai akibat limbah pemukiman memperoleh peningkatan sebesar 20,4% dengan nilai n-gain sebesar 0,4 tergolong kategori sedang. Pembelajaran berbasis masalah tipe Mothes disimpulkan dapat meningkatkan penguasaan konsep kimia siswa.;---The background of this research is many schools still have teacher-center system and less engange students to solve problem on daily lives. The purpose of this research is to obtain information about process and problem based learning type Mothes result in stream water pollution context caused by home waste. The research method used is one-group pretest-posttest design, with high school students of XI MIPA in one of high school with 27 students in Bandung as a subject. This research use instruments various instruments, that is Assesment of Teacher Performance, Students Work Sheet assessment form, Students Attitude and Performance Observation form, and items of questions. This research shows that the feasibility of the problem based learning type Mothes in stream water pollution context caused by home waste by review teacher performance was very good (94,3 %) students performance was also very good (92,3%). The results also showed that students concept mastery by problem based learning type Mothes in stream water pollution context caused by home waste obtain an increase of 20,4% by 0,4 n-gain value in sufficient category. Inconclution, problem based learning type Mothes can improve students chemistry concept mastery.
