Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi kurangnya kepedulian mahasiswa terhadap kelestarian lingkungan hidup yang berdasarkan pengamatan peneliti masih adanya perilaku mahasiswa antara lain membuang sampah dan puntung rokok sembarangan, penggunaan air yang boros, parkir kendaraan sembarangan, merusak tanaman yang ada di kampus. Peneliti mencoba alternatif model pelatihan Pendidikan Lingkungan Hidup (PLH) berbasis eco campus, maka perlu dibangun perilaku arif lingkungan mahasiswa. Bertolak dari kondisi tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan kondisi empirik pelatihan PLH berbasis eco campus yang dilaksanakan oleh Univ Pancabudi Medan, serta mengembangkan rancangan model pelatihan PLH berbasis eco campus, sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan perilaku arif lingkungan mahasiswa sehingga dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan. Pelatihan PLH berbasis eco campus, berdasarkan konsep dan terori yang dijadikan acuan dalam penelitian ini dari beberapa grand theory yang dikaji yaitu, hakekat PLH dalam konteks PLS, hakekat perilaku arif lingkungan, hakekat PLH berbasis eco campus termasuk teori pelatihan dan hakekat pendidikan tinggi. Secara metodologis penelitian ini menggunakan prosedur research and development dengan desain ekperimen pre-test dan post-test yang diujicobakan pada kelompok tunggal (One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design), dan tidak menggunakan kelompok kontrol. Hasil penelitian mendapat gambaran : Pertama, secara empirik telah terjadi ketidakseimbangan ekosistem dilingkungan kampus, penyebabnya yaitu rendahnya perilaku arif terhadap lingkungan yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa dan belum terbentuknya sistem yang mampu membangun perilaku arif lingkungan. Kedua, secara konseptual model pelatihan PLH berbasis eco campus untuk meningkatkan perilaku arif mahasiswa yang dikembangkan dengan berpijak pada landasan teori, landasan yuridis dan landasan empiris, meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Ketiga, dengan dukungan berbagai pihak antara lain mahasiswa, Dosen, Dekan, dan tokoh masyarakat yang ada, sehingga model PLH berbasis eco campus untuk meningkatkan perilaku arif mahasiswa ini dapat diimplementasikan sesuai dengan harapan. Keempat, model yang dikembangkan setelah melalui implementasi menunjukkan hasil yang efektif dalam meningkatkan perilaku arif mahasiswa terhadap lingkungan. Rekomendasi untuk pemerintah khusunya Badan Pengendalian Lingkungan Hidup Sumut, perguruan tinggi terutama Univ Pancabudi dan mahasiswa perlu mensinergikan kemitraan dengan pelayanan PLS upaya mengembangkan model pelatihan PLH berbasis eco campus agar terbentuk perilaku arif lingkungan mahasiswa sehingga dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan hidup. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pelatihan PLH berbasis eco campus terbukti mampu meningkatkan perilaku arif mahasiswa. Hal ini memberi indikasi bahwa model tersebut dapat memberi masukan dan mendukung keberhasilan program PLH berbasis eco campus yang dikembangkan selama ini. Kata Kunci: Pelatihan Pendidikan Lingkungan Hidup, Eco Campus, Perilaku Arif Lingkungan The research was motivated by the students lack awareness about the preservation of the environment. This was based on observations of the researcher behavior of the student include trash rubbish and cigarette butts littering anywhere, wasteful use of water, indiscriminate parking of vehicles, damaging existing plants on campus. The Researcher try alternative the model of environmental education training (PLH) with eco campus it is necessary to build wise environmentally behavior of students. Starting from these conditions, this study aimed to train students trough environmental education training (PLH) with eco campus based and develop design as well as efforts to improve the wise environmentally behavior so as to improve the welfare of students. The training of PLH with eco campus, based on concepts and theories are used as a reference in the study of some grand theory are, the nature of environmental education in the context of PLS, the nature wise environmental education (PLH) with eco campus based including training theory and the nature of higher education. In this study using a procedure methodological research and development (research and development) with the experimental design of pre-test and post –test were tested in single group (one – group pretest – posttest design ), and did not use a control group. The result got the describe: first, there has been an imbalance empirically ecosystem environment of the campus, the cause is less of wise behavior on the environment is done by the students and less of system that is able to built wise environmentally behavior. Second, the conceptual model of environmental education training to enhance with eco campus wise behavior of students who developed the basis of the theoretical basis, legal basis and empirical basis, including planning, implementation, and evaluation. Third, with the support of various parties including students, lecturers, and community leaders, so as the models of environmental education eco campus based to improve wise student behavior this can be impelemented in line with expectations. Fourth, the model developed after through implementation showed effective results in improving student behavior on the environment wisely. Recommendations for goverment environmental control agency especially North Sumatra, especially Panca Budi University and student of college need to synergize partnerships with educational services outside of school efforts to develop a training model PLH base on eco campus that created an wise environmentally behavior of students so as to improve the quality of life. Students can be concluded that the model of environmental education training with eco campus can be proven to improve wise student behavior. In this indication that the model is able to provide input and support successful environmental education program based on eco campus developed over the years.
