Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji lebih mendalam mengenai kualitas kehidupan keluarga yang memiliki anak dengan autisme melalui program konseling keluarga berbasis Family Quality of Life dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi. Keluarga yang memiliki anak dengan autisme, seringkali mereka mengalami kesulitan baik itu dalam mengetahui, menyadari dan memahami kebutuhan dan potensi yang dimiliki anak. Konseling keluarga merupakan salah satu upaya untuk membantu keluarga dalam menemukan solusi atas permasalahan yang terjadi. Subjek utama dalam penelitian ini adalah sebuah keluarga yang memiliki anak dengan autisme. Prosedur penelitian diawali dengan 1) studi pendahluan meliputi analisis kondisi objektif anak dan keluarga; 2) perumusan program konseling keluarga; dan 3) pelaksanaan program konseling keluarga. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah 1) Keluarga memiliki pemahaman yang baik akan kondisi dan kebutuhan anaknya. 2) Kondisi objektif dukungan keluarga terhadap kebutuhan anak sudah mengalami peningkatan, keluarga sudah memahami hakikat hidup berkeluarga adalah hidup bersama-sama dengan saling menghargai dan membantu memenuhi kebutuhan masing-masing anggota keluarga; 3) program konseling keluarga berbasis Family Quality of Life ini menjadi panduan bagi keluarga agar terwujud sebuah keluarga yang berkualitas; 4) konseling keluarga memberikan dampak yang positif tidak hanya terhadap persepsi dan dukungan keluarga terhadap anak, melainkan juga pada kemampuan komunikasi anak.;--- This study was conducted to more deeply examine about the quality of life of families who have children with autism through family counseling program based on Family Quality of Life in improving communication skills. The family has a child with autism, it often has difficulties in knowing, realizing and understanding the needs and potentials of the child. Family counseling is one effort to assist families in finding solutions to the problem that occur. The main subject of this research is a family who has an autism child. The study began with 1) preliminary study which included objective conditions analysis of the child and the family; 2) formulation of family counseling program; and 3) the implementation of the family counseling program. The study used the descriptive qualitative method. The conclusions of this study are 1) the family have a good understanding of the conditions and needs of the child.; 2) The objective condition of family support for the child's needs increased, the family understood the principle of family life that is to live together with respecting and helping each other in meeting the needs of every family member; 3) family counseling program based on Family Quality of Life is a guide for the family in order to realize a quality family; 4) family counseling has a positive impact not only to the perception and family support for children, but also children’s communication skills.
