Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan terhadap 26 orang siswa kelas V di SDN Z Kecamatan Sukajadi, tingkat keaktifan belajar siswa dalam mata pelajaran IPA tergolong kurang aktif. Kondisi tersebut tampak dalam gejala berikut: siswa tidak aktif menjawab pertanyaan, banyak siswa yang kurang bergairah dalam belajar, tempat duduk siswa bersifat homogen, siswa tidak bisa bekerja sama, ketika mendapat kesulitan siswa tidak bertanya, dan guru cenderung kepada siswa yang berprestasi. Penyebab utamanya adalah siswa takut salah dalam berpendapat, guru menggunakan metode ceramah, banyak siswa yang menganggap dirinya lebih dari yang lain, sehingga terjadi kesenjangan sosial diantara siswa. Hal tersebut tampak juga dalam persentase rata-rata keaktifan belajar siswa, yaitu sebesar 15,38%. Keaktifan belajar siswa dapat ditingkatkan dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT (Team Games Tournament). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan penerapan dan peningkatan keaktifan belajar siswa setelah model kooperatif tipe TGT diterapkan pada pembelajaran IPA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas dari Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart dengan tahapan perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan siklus I dan siklus II. Dalam listening activities dari 71% menjadi 97,5%. Visual activities dari 83,5% menjadi 96%. Motor activities 80,6% menjadi 96%. Writing activities 62,8% menjadi 95,1%. Mental activities 69,4% menjadi 94,2%. Emotional activities 75,7% menjadi 92,2%. Oral activities 42,1% menjadi 71,1%. Rata-rata dari 68% menjadi 91,1%. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penerapan metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT terbukti efektif untuk meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa pada pembelajaran IPA. Peningkatan aktivitas siswa terlihat dari: siswa lebih antusias dan lebih aktif dalam pembelajaran, percaya diri meningkat, dan kesenjangan sosial berubah menjadi hubungan persahabatan antar siswa ;--- Based on preliminary observation of 26 fifth grade students in SDN Z, Kecamatan Sukajadi, their study performance on Science (IPA) are low. These conditions imply in these symptoms: the students are not actively answer the questions, the students are less enthusiastic while in class, the students’ seats are arranged homogeneously, the students are not capable of teamwork, the students are not asking teacher when they faced a problem, and the teacher just engage with the good grade students. Primary cause of these problems are the students are afraid of misspeaking, the teachers are using lecture method, some of the students have too much pride of their competency that raise conflicts between the students. These conditions are shown in students’ study performance average percentage: 15,38%. The Students’ study performance could be improved by implementing one of the cooperative learning models, the TGT type (team games tournament). Objective of this research are describing the implementaion of the TGT and describing the improvement of students’ study performance on Science (IPA). Kemmis and Mc Taggart’ Action Research Model which steps are planning, acting, observing, and reflection. The research shows that there are improvements in cycles I and cycles II. In listening activities aspect, the percentage improved, from 71% to 97,5%. In visual activities aspect, from 83,5% to 96%. In motor activities aspect, from 80,6% to 96%. In writing activities aspect, from 62,8% to 95,1%. In mental activities aspect, from 69,4% to 94,2%. In emotional activities aspect, from 75,7% to 92,2%. In oral activities aspect, from 42,1% to 71,1%. Overall performance percentage improves from 68% to 91,1%. The conclusion is that the implementation of the TGT cooperative learning model effectively improves students’ study performance on Science (IPA). Students’ activity improvement imply in these conditions: the students are more enthusiastic and more active in class, their self-confidence improve, and the conflict between them lessen and turn into friendship
