Abstract

Kemampuan komunikasi sains merupakan salah satu keterampilan dalam keterampilan
proses sains dan salah satu tahapan pembelajaran Kurikulum 2013. Pentingnya
kemampuan komunikasi sains belum sejalan dengan penelitian yang dilakukan di bidang
tersebut. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap kemampuan
komunikasi sains siswa pada konsep klasifikasi tumbuhan menggunakan analisis fenetik
yang dinilai menggunakan Metode Expert-Novice Dialog. Penelitian ini dilakukan di
sebuah SMAN di Bandung. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X,
sedangkan sampel penelitiannya terdiri dari satu kelas dengan 38 siswa, dimana 7 orang
siswa berperan sebagai expert (pemberi informasi) dan 31 siswa berperan sebagai novice
(penerima informasi). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode
deskriptif. Expert akan menjelaskan tentang klasifikasi tumbuhan Angiospermae
menggunakan analisis fenetik. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui instrumen berupa
rubrik kemampuan komunikasi sains, rubrik observasi, tes konsep novice, angket
tanggapan novice, angket tanggapan pelaksanaan analisis fenetik dan rubrik wawancara.
Pelaksanaan penelitian direkam kamera video kemudian ditranskrip berdasarkan rubrik
penilaian kemampuan komunikasi sains. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persentase ratarata
kemampuan komunikasi sains adalah sebesar 58,09% termasuk kategori “Kurang”.
Penguasaan konsep siswa dikategorikan “Sangat Baik” dengan nilai rata-rata 94,64%.
Tanggapan siswa terhadap Metode Expert- Novice Dialog dan analisis fenetik
menunjukkan respon yang positif karena sangat membantu siswa memahami konsep
pembelajaran.;---Science communication competence is one of skill in science process
skills and one of the stages of learning Curriculum 2013. The importance of
science communication ability has not kept pace with the research conducted in
the field. Therefore, this study aimed to uncover the science communication skills
of students on the concept of plant classification using phenethic analysis assessed
using Method Expert-Novice Dialog. This research was conducted in a Senior
High School in Bandung. The population was all students of class X, while the
research sample consisted of one class with 38 students, of which 7 students act as
expert (informer) and 31 students act as novice (recipient of the information). The
method used in this research is descriptive. Expert will explain the use of
Angiospermae classification using phenetic analysis. Data collected through
instruments such as science communication competence rubrics, observation
rubrics, tests concepts novice, novice feedback questionnaire, questionnaire
responses execution phenetic analysis and interview sections. Implementation of
the study recorded by a video camera and then transcribed by an assessment
rubric of science communication competence. The results showed the average
percentage of science communication ability is equal to 58.09% are "less".
Mastery of concepts students are categorized as "Very Good" with an average
value of 94.64%. The response of students to the method of dialogue and analysis
Expert- Novice fenetik was positive because it helps students understand the
concept of learning.
