Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan LKS praktikum berdasarkan model inkuiri terbimbing, pada topik pemisahan komponen zat warna dalam permen. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan yang dilakukan dalam dua tahap, yaitu tahap studi pendahuluan dan tahap pengembangan model. Sumber data adalah bahan ajar IPA (buku dan LKS), siswa kelas VII SMP di kota Bandung yang berjumlah 15 orang, guru IPA SMP di kota Bandung yang berjumlah 7 orang, dan dosen Departemen Pendidikan Kimia FPMIPA UPI yang berjumlah 3 orang. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa pedoman wawancara, lembar analisis LKS praktikum, lembar optimasi, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan tahapan inkuiri, rubrik penilaian jawaban siswa terhadap tugas-tugas pada LKS, lembar penilaian guru dan dosen, serta angket respon siswa. Karakteristik LKS praktikum pemisahan komponen zat warna dengan teknik kromatografi kertas yang ada di sekolah, ditinjau berdasarkan ketersediaan informasi alat, bahan dan prosedur, termasuk dalam LKS praktikum dengan tipe instruksi langsung (cookbook). Hasil optimasi prosedur praktikum pemisahan komponen zat warna dalam permen sebagai berikut : sampel zat warna berasal dari permen 2 warna yaitu warna hijau dan coklat, diekstraksi menggunakan pelarut air, dan dipisahkan dengan menggunakan teknik kromatografi kertas dengan 3 jenis pelarut (eluen) yaitu larutan garam 0,1%, alkohol 70% dan aseton. Keterlaksanaan praktikum menggunakan LKS praktikum yang dikembangkan, berdasarkan keterlaksanaan tahap-tahap inkuiri tergolong sangat baik, dan dari jawaban siswa terhadap tugas-tugas yang diberikan dalam LKS praktikum tergolong baik. Penilaian guru dan dosen terhadap LKS praktikum yang dikembangkan pada aspek kesesuaian konsep, tata bahasa, dan tata letak, serta perwajahan tergolong sangat baik. Respon siswa terhadap LKS praktikum yang dikembangkan tergolong sangat baik. ---------- This research aims to determine the feasibility of a lab worksheets based on a guided inquiry model with the topic separating components of color in candy. The research method used is research and development conducted in two stages, i.e. Preliminary study and development of the model (within limited testing). The data source is learning material for science (book and LKS), 15 students of the VII grade of SMP in Bandung, 7 teachers for science teachers of SMP in Bandung, and the 3 lecturers of Department of Chemistry Education of FPMIPA of UPI. The instruments used were sheet analysis for lab worksheets, interview guides, design optimization, observation sheet, rubric for scoring student’s answer related to the worksheet task, assesment sheets given to teacher and lecturers, and questionnaire students’ responses. The characteristic of lab worksheets separating mixtures with paper chromatography technique in SMP in Bandung, be reviewed based on the availability of information tools, materials, and procedures, including the cookbook lab worksheets. The optimization result of experiment separating color in candy: the sample of a two-color candy which are green and brown, extracted by using water and separated by using paper chromatography technique with 3 kind of solvent (eluen) which are a solution of salt 0,1 %, alcohol 70 %, and aseton. Eligibility lab worksheets were developed based on the stage of inquiry categorized very good and of the students’ answers to the task in the worksheets was categorized into good. The evaluation designated teacher and lecturers of the developed student worksheet based on the suitability of the concept, grammar, layout and appearance was categorized into very good. Students’ responses of the experiment using the developed worksheet was categorized into very good.
