Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh semakin menjamurnya fenomena kaum waria di Indonesia khususnya di Kota Cimahi. Kaum waria menjadi kontrofersi didalam masyarakat, dijadikan lelucon dan dianggap sebagai sosok yang hina. Lalu LSM Srikandi Perintis berperan untuk merekonstruksi kehidupan sosial kaum waria di Cimahi. Rumusan masalah dari penelitian ini adalah bagaimana proses rekonstruksi sosial kehidupan kaum waria di Kota Cimahi yang dilakukan oleh LSM Srikandi Peritis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui proses rekonstruksi sosial kehidupan kaum waria di Kota Cimahi yang dilakukan oleh LSM Srikandi Perintis. Penelitian ini merupakan salah satu penelitian kualitatif dan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Dengan instrumen utama yaitu peneliti sendiri dan ditunjang dengan instrumen pendukung lain seperti pedoman wawancara, perekam suara, kamera dan alat tulis. Temuan hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) Kehidupan kaum waria di Kota Cimahi berangsur membaik setelah dilakukan pembinaan oleh LSM Srikandi Perintis. (2) Kaum waria masih mengalami perlakuan diskriminatif dari berbagai pihak seperti pemerintah, masyarakat dan keluarga. (3) Bentuk rekonstruksi sosial yang dilakukan berkisar masalah kesehatan, sosialisasi, dukungan sebaya, advokasi, usaha, dan pengembangan bakat. (4) Masih terdapat beberapa kendala dalam proses rekonstruksi sosial yang dilakukan.----------The research was distributed by widespread of the phenomenon transvestites in Indonesia, particularly in Cimahi city. The existence o transvestites became a controversy in the community, made into a joke, and considered a lowly figure. Then LSM Srikandi Perintis have a role to reconstruct transvestites group life in Cimahi city. Formulation of research problem this is how the process of the reconstruction of the social life transvestites in Cimahi conducted by LSM Srikandi Formulation of research problem this is how the process of the reconstruction of the social life of transvestites in Cimahi conducted by LSM Srikandi Peritis. The research is a form of qualitative research and analysis on deskriptive basis. With the main research instrument is its own researchers and other support instruments such as guidelines for interviews, voice recorder, camer, and stationery. The finding from the results of this research are (1) The lives of transvestites group in Cimahi continuing to improve after construction is done by LSM Srikandi Peritis. (2) The transvestites group are still having discriminatory treatment of various parties such as Governments, communities, families. (3) Form of social reconstruction being done suchhealth problems, socialization, peer supprot, advocacy, business, and development of talent. (4) There are still some obstacles in the process of social reconstruction.
