Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keinginan peneliti untuk mengujicobakan model SETS (Science Environment Technology Society) dalam pembelajaran menulis teks anekdot. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kefektifan model SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, Society) terhadap kemampuan menulis teks anekdot siswa X SMA Kartika XIX-2 Bandung dan memberikan alternatif model pembelajaran menulis bagi guru di sekolah terkait model pembelajaran di sekolah yang kurang bervariasi dan adanya kesulitan siswa dalam mengembangkan ide, kreativitas, berpikir kritis, dan keaktifan dalam menulis. Model SETS (Science Environment Technology Society) mengaitkan pembelajaran dengan muatan sains, lingkungan, teknologi, dan masyarakat. Model pembelajaran SETS ini akan membimbing siswa berpikir aktif dan bertindak memecahkan permasalahan aktual yang terjadi di sekitarnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen kuasi dengan desain penelitian pretest-posttest control group. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas X SMA Kartika XIX-2 Bandung. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 29 siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan 28 siswa pada kelas kontrol yang diambil secara purposive sampling. Kelas eksperimen diberi perlakuan dengan menggunakan model SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, Society), sedangkan kelas kontrol dengan model Project Based Learning. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji-t dengan menggunakan bantuan software SPSS versi 16 dan penghitungan manual. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diketahui nilai rata-rata kemampuan menulis teks anekdot siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa kelas kontrol. Dari hasil uji-t diperoleh thitung ≥ ttabel yaitu thitung (10,455) ≥ ttabel (2,005). Oleh karena itu, Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak. Model SETS (Science Environment Technology Society) terbukti efektif dalam pembelajaran menulis teks anekdot. This research is motivated by the desire of researchers to try out this SETS Science Environment Technology Society) model on writing anecdot text learning. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, Society) model on the ability to write anecdot text on X grade class of Kartika XIX-2 Senior High School in Bandung and provide an alternative model of learning to write for teachers in schools related the learning model in schools that are less varied and difficulties of students in developing ideas, creativity, critical thinking, and activeness in writing. SETS (Science Environment Technology Society) model linking learning to the charge of science, environment, technology, and society. SETS learning model will guide students to think actively and act to solve actual problems that occurred in the vicinity. This study uses a quasi experiment research design with pretest-posttest control group. Population in this research is all class of X grade at Kartika XIX-2 Senior High School in Bandung. The sample in this study amounted to 29 students in the experiment class and 28 students in the control class is taken by purposive sampling. Experiment class were treated by using SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, Society) model, while the control class Project Based Learning model. Analysis of the data used is the t-test using SPSS version 16 software. Based on the analysis of data known to the average value of students' ability to write text anecdotes experiment class is higher than the control class. From the t-test results obtained tcalculate ≥ ttable is tcalculate (10.455) ≥ ttable (2,005). Therefore, Ha accepted and H0 is rejected. SETS (Science Environment Technology Society) model proved effective in learning to write text anecdotes.
