Abstract

Daya tahan otot dibutuhkan hampir semua cabang olahraga. Salah satu cara untuk melatih daya tahan otot adalah dengan latihan beban. Latihan beban merupakan latihan yang dilakukan secara sistematis dengan menggunakan beban sebagai alat untuk menambah kekuatan fungsi otot guna mencapai tujuan seperti memperbaiki kondisi fisik, mencegah terjadinya cedera atau untuk tujuan kesehatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dan perbedaan rata-rata latihan beban menggunakan metode burn-out dan giant set terhadap peningkatan daya tahan otot sebelum dan sesudah diberi perlakuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain The Static Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah anggota UKM IBAF UPI yang berjumlah 20 orang yang terdiri dari 10 orang pada kelompok metode burn-out dan 10 orang pada kelompok metode giant set. Instrumen tes yang digunakan adalah tes untuk daya tahan otot meliputi tes push-up dan pull-up. Perlakuan (treatment) pada penelitian ini dilakukan selama 6 minggu (16 kali pertemuan) dengan frekuensi latihan sebnyak 3 kali per minggu. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah : 1) Terdapat pengaruh latihan beban menggunakan metode burn-out terhadap peningkatan daya tahan otot dengan nilai rata-rata sebelum perlakuan = 48,1, nilai rata-rata setelah perlakuan = 69, t = -66,462, nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05 dengan demikian Ho ditolak. 2) Terdapat pengaruh latihan beban menggunakan metode giant set terhadap peningkatan daya tahan otot dengan nilai rata-rata sebelum perlakuan = 44,6, nilai rata-rata setelah perlakuan = 58,1, t = -50,234, nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05 dengan demikian Ho ditolak. 3) Terdapat perbedaan rata-rata yang signifikan antara latihan beban menggunakan metode burn-out dan giant set terhadap peningkatan daya tahan otot, dengan nilai selisih rata-rata burn-out = 20,9 (69-48,1), nilai selisih rata-rata giant set = 13,5 (58,1-22,6), dan mean difference = 7,4 (20,9-13,5), dengan demikian metode burn-out mempunyai nilai rata-rata lebih baik daripada metode giant set untuk meningkatkan daya tahan otot. One of methods to train the muscular endurance is weight training. Weight training is an exercise carried out systematically by using weight as the tools to enhance the strength of muscular function in order to achieve the purposes such as repairing physical condition, preventing injury, and gaining health. This study was aimed to find out the influence and difference of average weight training by using bunt-out and gain set method to improve muscular endurance before and after treatment. This study also used experimental design The Static Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample of the study was the members of UKM IBAF UPI as much as 20 people that consisted of 10 people in burn-out method group and 10 people in giant set method group. The instrument used a test for measure the muscular endurance that covered push-up and pull-up test. The treatment of this study was undertaken during six weeks with the training frequency as much as three times per a week. The result gained as follows: 1) there was the influence of weight training by using burn-out to improve muscular endurance with average value in pretest = 48.1, the average value in posttest = 69, t = -66.462, the significant value 0.000<0.05 therefore Ho rejected. 2) There was influence of weight training by using giant set method to improve muscular endurance with the average value in pretest = 44.6, and the average value in posttest = 58.1, t = -50.234, the significant value 0.000<0.05 then Ho rejected. 3) There was significant difference in the average between the weight training by using burn-out and giant set method to improve muscular endurance, with the value of average deviation burn-out = 20.9 (69-48,1), and the value of average deviation giant set = 13,5 (58,1-22,6), and mean difference = 7,4 (20,9-13,5), therefore burnt-out method had better average value that giant set method to improve muscular endurance.
