    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan: (1) belum optimalnya motivasi kerja sebagai pemimpin pendidikan, (2) belum terciptanya Keterampilan Manajerialyang mendukung peningkatan kinerja kepala sekolah, (3) belum optimalnya kinerja kepala sekolah yang diharapkan.FokusPenelitian adalah bagaimana gambaran danpengaruhmotivasi kerja, keterampilan manajerial dan kinerja kepala sekolah di Sekolah Dasar.. Tujuannya untuk mengetahui gambaran danmenganalisis pengaruh motivasi kerja dan keterampilan manajerial terhadap kinerja kepala sekolah baik secara parsial maupun simultan.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survey. Populasinya adalah seluruh 63 kepala sekolah dasar negeri se-Kecamatan Padalarang Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Jumlah sampel penelitian terdiri dari 63 kepala sekolah yang diambil berdasarkan total sampling.Penjaringan data menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis melalui korelasi dan regresi.Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan dan analisis data, ditemukan bahwa motivasi kerja, keterampilan manajerial, dan kinerja kepala sekolah di Sekolah Dasar Negeri se-Kecamatan Padalarang Kabupaten Bandung Barat berada pada katagori sangat tinggi. Motivasi kerja berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja kepala sekolah. Keterampilan manajerial berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja kepala sekolah, dan secara bersama-sama motivasi kerja dan keterampilan manajerial berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja kepala sekolah.Rekomendasi diberikan kepada kepala sekolah dan peneliti lain. Kepala sekolah perlu memperbaiki motivasi kerjanya, dan perlu meningkatkan keterampilan manajerialnya agar kinerjakepala sekolah dapat optimal. Motivasi kerja dan keterampilan manajerial menjadi faktor penting yang harus dibangun secara bersama-sama dalam upaya pencapaian kinerja kepala sekolah, terutama pada aspek menindak lanjuti program supervisi, aspek promosi, dan aspek evaluasi program pembelajaran sehingga sinergisnya motivasi kerja, keterampilan manajerialdiharapkan dapat meningkatkan kinerja kepala sekolah.Sedangkan untuk peneliti lain, agar dapat memperbaiki penelitian ini, baik secara teoritis maupun metodologis. The backgrounds of this study are: (1) the work motivation of educational leader that is not optimal yet, (2) there is no conducive managerial skills which supports the improvement of the principal performance, (3) the expected principal performance is not optimal yet.The problems that will be solved by this study are how the description and analyzing the effect of the work motivation and managerial skills toward the principal performanceseither partially or simultaneously.The approach used in this study is quantitative approach with survey method. The population is 63 principals. While the sample used in this study is 63 principals that selected by total samplingfrom all public primary school in Kecamatan Padalarang. The technique used to collect the data is questionnaire and the data was analyzed by correlation and regression. The result of the data processing and analysis shows that the work motivation, the managerial skills, and the principal performance in all public primary school in Kecamatan Padalarang Kabupaten Bandung Barat are at very high category. Either the work motivation or managerial skills is affecting positively and significantly toward the principal performance, and together with the motivation work, the managerial skills is affecting positively and significantly toward the principal performance.The recommendations that can be given to the principals, teachers, and other researchers. Principals need to improve the work motivation, and to increase the managerial skills that conducive to pricipal performance can be optimal. The work motivation and the managerial skills become an important factor which need to be developed together in order to achieve the principal performance, especially in the aspects of planning the supervision program, performing the task, and evaluation program. Thus, the synergist of the work motivation, the principal managerial skills is expected to improve the principal performance. While for other researchers, in order to improve the study, both theoretically and methodologically
