Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara sikap terhadap ruang terbuka publik dengan social identity pada komunitas di Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah accidental sampling yang termasuk ke dalam non probability sampling, dengan jumlah subjek sebanyak 219 anggota komunitas. Subjek penelitian adalah anggota komunitas yang melakukan aktivititas komunitas di ruang terbuka publik Kota Bandung. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode kuesioner menggunakan instrumen sikap terhadap ruang terbuka publik yang dikembangkan peneliti dengan menggunakan tiga komponen sikap menurut Azwar, 1995 dan aspek kebutuhan dasar pengguna ruang terbuka publik menurut Carr (1992). Sedangkan instrumen untuk mengukur social identity dikembangkan peneliti berdasarkan dimensi social identity yang dikemukakan oleh Jackson & Smith (1999). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara sikap terhadap ruang terbuka publik dengan social identity pada komunitas di Kota Bandung dengan nilai korelasi sebesar 0,622 dan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa semakin positif kecenderungan sikap anggota komunitas terhadap ruang terbuka publik kota Bandung, maka anggota komunitas cenderung memiliki social identity yang tinggi. The purpose of this research is to examine the correlation between attitude toward public open spaces and social identity of community in Bandung. This research uses quantitative approach with correlation method. Accidental sampling which is a part of non probability sampling were used to get the sample on this research. The sample consisted of 219 community members who use open public space in Bandung as their place for doing activities. Data collected with questionnaire method by using instrument of attitude toward public open spaces which is contains three component of attitude (Azwar, 1995) and basic need aspect of user public open space (Carr, 1992) which is developed by researcher. Data for social identity were collected by using social identity instrument which is developed by researcher according to dimension of social identity by Jackson & Smith (1999). The result showed there are positive and significant correlation between attitude towards open public spaces and social identity of community in Bandung with coefficient correlation 0,622 and significance 0,000. It also showed that the more positive the attitude of members of the community tendency towards public open spaces, the community members are likely to have high social identity.
