Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh persoalan kekerasan berbasis gender yang menjadi penyebab awal terjadinya trafficking yang terdapat dalam novel Mimi Lan Mintuna karya Remy Sylado. Kekerasan berbasis gender tidak hanya menimpa kaum perempuan tetapi juga laki-laki. Asumsi gender tertentu yang melekat pada perempuan maupun laki-laki menjadi penyebab dari kekerasan berbasis gender ini. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) struktur teks dalam novel Mimi Lan Mintuna karya Remy Sylado yang menggambarkan kekerasan berbasis gender; (2) bentuk kekerasan berbasis gender yang terdapat dalam novel; (3) perjuangan perempuan dalam menghadapi persoalan kekerasan berbasis gender dalam novel Mimi Lan Mintuna karya Remy Sylado. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif analisis dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa studi pustaka. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah novel Mimi Lan Mintuna karya Remy Sylado. Untuk mendeskripsikan hal tersebut digunakan kritik sastra feminis dan perspektif gender. Hasil penelitian memberikan jawaban bahwa pengaluran dan alur cerita mudah dipahami karena didominasi alur linear. Alur kilas balik, sorot balik, dan bayangan digunakan untuk menciptakan ketegangan-ketegangan dalam cerita. Baik tokoh perempuan maupun laki-laki digambarkan mengalami ketidakadilan gender. Latar cerita terjadi di masyarakat Jawa, Manado, Bangkok, dan Jepang yang menggambarkan adanya bias gender. Jenis penceritaan dan tipe pencerita hadir memperjelas kedudukan pengarang sebagai pembuat cerita. Terdapat bentuk kekerasan berbasis gender yaitu bentuk pemerkosaan terhadap perempuan, tindakan pemukulan dan serangan fisik yang terjadi dalam rumah tangga, bentuk pelacuran, bentuk pornografi, dan pelecehan seksual. Kekerasan berbasis gender tersebut terjadi karena adanya bias gender antara perempuan dan laki-laki. Perjuangan yang terdapat dalam cerita ada yang bernilai feminis yaitu perjuangan melawan stereotipe perempuan, peran gender perempuan, dengan mendekatkan diri pada Tuhan, dan dengan kekuatan cinta. Adapula yang tidak bernilai feminis yang justru mengentalkan gender. Inti perjuangan perempuan dalam melawan kekerasan berbasis gender dilakukan untuk mencapai kesetaraan gender, utamanya di dalam lingkup keluarga. This research is motivated by the issue of gender-based violence which become the cause of trafficking contained in the the novel of Remy Syaldo titled Mimi Lan Mintuna. Gender-based violence does not only affects a lot of women but also men. The assumptions of particular gender which inherent in the women and men become the causes of these gender-based violence. Based on these problems, the goal of this research is to describe: (1) the structure of the text in the novel Mimi Lan Mintuna that Remy Sylado works which depicting gender-based violence; (2) forms of gender-based violence contained in these novel; (3) and the fight of women in addressing the issue of gender-based violence in these novel. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis with data collection in the form of literature review. The data source of this research is novel Mimi Lan Mintuna by Remy Sylado. The terms used to describe it, is feminist literary criticism and gender perspectives. Results of the study provide the answers that the storyline and the technique used to present it, is easy to understand because it is dominated by linear grooves. Flashback, which illustrates one or several events in the past, and the shadow which is used to create the tensity in these story. Either a woman and a man figure experienced gender inequality. Background story takes place in the community of Java, Manado, Bangkok, and Japan which illustrates the gender bias. Type of storytelling and storytellers are present to clarify the position of the author as the creator of the story. Types of gender-based violence against women is in the form of rape, beatings and acts of physical assault that occurred in the household, prostitution, pornography, and sexual harassment. Gender-based violence occurs because of gender bias between women and men. The fight that women do in the story contained both feminist and non-feminist. Kind of feminists those are women's struggle against stereotypes, increasing gender roles of women, do oncoming to closer to God, and with the power of love. Besides, the non-feminist precisely do to thicken gender. The core fight of women against gender-based violence is sought to achieve gender equality, especially in the family sphere.
