Abstract
Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan latar belakang bahwa banyaknya ditemukan perbedaan-perbedaan di dalam rumah kost. Baik perbedaan mengenai cara pandang, perbedaan mengenai kebiasaan, maupun perbedaan nilai. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada rumah kost yang ada disekitar kampus UPI Bandung. Pada penelitian ini akan di kaji mengenai nilai sosial budaya apa saja yang terdapat dalam kehidupan rumah kost disekitar kampus UPI Bandung, faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan terjadinya benturan nilai sosial budaya, serta solusi yang tepat menurut pihak yang betul-betul mengetahui kehidupan di dalam rumah kost tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode wawancara dan observasi untuk memperoleh data yang diperlukan. Dalam penelitian ini, objek penelitiannya adalah penghuni rumah kost, pemilik ataupun pengelola rumah kost berkenaan dengan benturan nilai sosial budaya dalam kehidupan rumah kost di sekitar kampus UPI. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setiap rumah kost pasti terdapat benturan-benturan, baik menyangkut nilai sosial ataupun nilai budaya. Benturan-benturan yang terjadi tersebut bisa terjadi antar sesama penghuni ataupun antara penghuni dengan pemilik rumah kost. Selain itu juga benturan nilai sosial budaya yang terjadi bisa saja berpotensi menimbulkan konflik apabila tidak ada keinginan pihak yang terlibat benturan nilai sosial budaya untuk mengerti dan memahami penghuni lain. Kata kunci : benturan, nilai sosial budaya, kehidupan rumah kost. This study was conducted with a background due to the many differences found in the boarding house. Either the differences of perspective, the difference of habit, and the difference in value. This research was conducted at the boarding house that was around UPI Bandung. This study will examine the socio-cultural values regarding what was contained in a boarding house life around UPI Bandung, the factors that cause a conflict of social and cultural values, as well as the right solution according to the party who really know the life in a boarding house. This study used interviews and observations to obtain the necessary data. In this study, the research object was a boarding house occupant, owner or manager of a boarding house regarding the conflict of socio-cultural values in the life of a boarding house around UPI. The results showed that in every boarding house there must be collisions, either in relation to the value of social or cultural values. Collisions happened between the people can occured between the occupant or occupants of the owner of a boarding house. In addition, the clash of cultural values that occured could potentially cause a conflict if there was no desire of the parties involved in a conflict of social and cultural values to understand and comprehend the other occupants.
