Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya pendidikan kebencanaan sejak dini, terutama bagi peserta didik sekolah dasar sebagai kelompok rentan mengingat Indonesia merupakan negara dengan tingkat kerawanan bencana yang tinggi, salah satunya gempa bumi. Namun, berbagai kajian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi di lapangan masih menghadapi kendala, mulai dari integrasi pembelajaran yang belum jelas, minimnya pelatihan guru, kurangnya kesadaran warga sekolah terhadap lingkungan berisiko, hingga keterbatasan fasilitas mitigasi bencana. Hal ini diperkuat oleh hasil studi pendahuluan di SDN Sindangkerta yang menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan pendidikan kebencanaan masih bersifat insidental, belum terintegrasi ke dalam pembelajaran, serta sarana prasarana evakuasi yang tersedia masih terbatas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif quasi experimental design dengan model Pre-Test and Post-Test with Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas V SDN Sindangkerta yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan model Project Based Learning dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes kemampuan mitigasi bencana gempa bumi yang mencakup aspek pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan. Data dianalisis menggunakan Uji Paired Sample t-Test dengan bantuan software SPSS versi 22. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa baik kelas kontrol maupun kelas eksperimen mengalami peningkatan setelah pembelajaran. Namun, peningkatan pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Rata-rata kemampuan mitigasi bencana pada kelas eksperimen meningkat dari 49,06 menjadi 77,44, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol meningkat dari 46,50 menjadi 69,17. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan model Project Based Laerning berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan kemampuan mitigasi bencana gempa bumi peserta didik. Dengan demikian, model Project Based Learning dapat dijadikan salah satu alternatif strategi pembelajaran di sekolah dasar untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan peserta didik dalam mitigasi bencana. This research is motivated by the importance of early disaster education, especially for elementary school students as a vulnerable group considering that Indonesia is a country with a high level of disaster vulnerability, one of which is earthquakes. However, various studies show that implementation in the field still faces obstacles, ranging from unclear learning integration, minimal teacher training, lack of awareness of school residents regarding risky environments, to limited disaster mitigation facilities. This is reinforced by the results of a preliminary study at SDN Sindangkerta which showed that the implementation of disaster education is still incidental, not yet integrated into learning, and available evacuation infrastructure is still limited. This study used a quantitative quasi-experimental design method with a Pre-Test and Post-Test model with Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The research subjects were fifth-grade students of SDN Sindangkerta who were divided into two groups, namely the experimental class who received learning with the Project Based Learning model and the control class who used conventional learning. The research instrument was an earthquake disaster mitigation ability test covering aspects of knowledge, attitudes, and skills. Data were analyzed using a Paired Sample t-Test with SPSS version 22 software. The results showed that both the control and experimental classes experienced improvement after the learning process. However, the improvement in the experimental class was higher than in the control class. The average disaster mitigation ability in the experimental class increased from 49.06 to 77.44, while in the control class it increased from 46.50 to 69.17. The results of the hypothesis test showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, thus concluding that the Project-Based Learning model significantly improved students' earthquake mitigation skills. Therefore, the Project-Based Learning model can be used as an alternative learning strategy in elementary schools to improve students' knowledge, attitudes, and skills in disaster mitigation.
