Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan-permasalahan yang ada selama pembelajaran mengonversi teks anekdot ke cerpen yang dilaksanakan di kelas X MA Al-Ihsan Baleendah Bandung. Tujuannya adalah (1) mendeskripsikan kemampuan mengonversi teks anekdot ke cerpen siswa kelas X MA Al-Ihsan Baleendah Bandung di kelas eksperimen sebelum dan setelah menggunakan metode TTW, (2) mendeskripsikan kemampuan mengonversi teks anekdot ke cerpen siswa kelas X MA Al-Ihsan Baleendah Bandung di kelas pembanding sebelum dan setelah menggunakan metode inkuiri, dan (3) menemukan ada tidaknya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan siswa kelas X MA Al-Ihsan Baleendah Bandung di kelas eksperimen danpembanding dalam mengonversi teks anekdot ke cerpen sebelum dan setelah diberikan metode pembelajaran. Cara pengumpulan data adalah dengan penilaian portofolio, observasi, dan angket. Data yang diperoleh berupa hasil prates dan pascates siswa dalam mengonversi teks anekdot ke cerpen, hasil penilaian observasi guru dan siswa, hasil penilaian sikap, pengetahuan, dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa thitung (5.16) > ttabel (2,021) dalam taraf signifikansi α = 0,05. Artinya, hipotesis yang diajukan penulis (H1) diterima atau metode TTW efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran mengonversi teks anekdot ke cerpen. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan adanya peningkatan rata-rata nilai siswa. Peningkatan nilai rata-rata prates siswa kelas eksperimen dari sebesar 53 menjadi 78 dan kelas kontrol dari rata-rata prates 50 menjadi 63. Kata kunci : Pembelajaran Mengonversi, Teks Anekdot, Cerpen, Metode TTW. This research is motivated by the existing problems during converting anecdote texts into short stories learning in X-grade class MA Al-Ihsan Baleendah Bandung. The purposes are: (1) To describe the ability in converting anecdote texts into short stories of the X-grade class MA Al-Ihsan Baleendah Bandung students in the experiment and control class before implementing the TTW method. (2) to describe the ability in converting anecdote texts into short stories of the X-grade class MA Al-Ihsan Baleendah Bandung students in the experiment and control class after implementing the TTW method. (3) To find whether there is significant difference ability of X-grade class MA Al-Ihsan Baleendah Bandung students in converting anecdote texts into short stories before and after implementing the TTW method in the experiment and control class. The data collection methods are portfolios assessment, observation and questionnaires. The obtained data come from the students’ pretest and posttest results of converting anecdote texts into short stories, the assessment results of teachers and students observations, behavior assessment results, knowledge and questionnaires. The research result showed that tcount (5.16) > ttable (2,021) in the α = 0,05 significance level. This means that the researcher’s proposed hypothesis (H1) is accepted or that the TTW method is effectively used in the converting anecdote texts into short stories learning. It is shown from the increasing of students’ average mark. The increasing of experiment class students’ pretest average mark is about 53 and 78 in posttest, while in the control class the increasing pretest average mark about 50 and 63 for posttest.
