    Abstract

Konstruksi tuturan pelanggaran prinisp kerja sama ditemukan melalui logical fallacy diantaranya red herring, strawman fallacy, ad hominem, false dilemma, hasty generalization, prejudical language, argument from ignorance, slippery slope, bandwagon, appeals to authority, card stacking, begging the question, appeals to pity, guilt by assocation, sebab-akibat yang salah, post-hoc, false needs, and guilt by association. The increasing number of traffic violations from 2020 to 2022 presents an interesting phenomenon to further examine, particularly regarding the violation of Grice’s cooperative principles in conversations between police officers and the public, as well as the underlying factors contributing to these violations. This study focuses on the responses of interlocutors specifically traffic violators in their interactions with police officers. The aim of this research is to identify the forms of violations of Grice’s (1975) Cooperative Principles and Withey’s (2016) Logical Fallacies in the utterances of the public, particularly traffic violators, as featured in the "86" reality show broadcasted on NET TV. The research questions are: (1) What types of violations of Grice’s Cooperative Principles occur in the utterances of the public in the "86" television show? and (2) How are these utterances constructed? The data source for this study comprises transcripts of public utterances taken from several episodes of the "86" show on NET TV. This study employs a qualitative method using a content analysis approach. The findings reveal 51 utterances that violated the cooperative principles, including 14 instances of quantity maxim violations, 13 of quality maxim violations, 14 of relevance maxim violations, and 10 of manner maxim violations. The construction of these utterances often involved various types of logical fallacies, such as red herring, strawman fallacy, ad hominem, false dilemma, hasty generalization, prejudicial language, argument from ignorance, slippery slope, bandwagon, appeals to authority, card stacking, begging the question, appeals to pity, guilt by association, false cause, post hoc, false needs, and guilt by association. Among these, red herring, false dilemma, slippery slope, prejudicial language, and appeals to pity were the most dominant.
