Abstract
----- This study aims to explore and compare the implementation of contextual learning for students across levels (grades 1-6) in two types of primary schools, namely blended learning schools in Bandung City and conventional primary schools in Cimahi City. Contextual learning was chosen because it is believed to be able to connect the subject matter with the real context in students' real life, improve concept understanding, and encourage active involvement in the learning process. This research uses a qualitative approach with a comparative case study method. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, classroom and school environment observations, and learning documentation. The results show that schools with blended learning system implement contextual learning thoroughly and structurally. This is shown through mixed-age grouping, utilization of technology through LMS, and implementation of collaborative projects that reflect learners' real life. Reflection and authentic assessment become an important part of the learning cycle. In contrast, conventional elementary schools show that the implementation of contextual learning is not optimal, with an approach that is still dominated by the lecture method, limited learning media, unintegrated use of technology, and reflection that has not been done systematically. However, the assessment used by conventional schools is authentic. This research concludes that contextual learning has great potential in improving students' understanding, engagement and motivation to learn across levels, especially if supported by adequate facilities, adaptive teacher competencies and progressive school policies. The research also recommends the need for continuous teacher training, strengthening collaboration between schools and parents, and providing learning resources that are contextual and relevant to learners' lives.
