Abstract
Kemandirian merupakan aspek penting bagi santriwati dalam menghadapi kehidupan di asrama dan lingkungan sosial pesantren. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara dukungan teman sebaya dan kecerdasan emosional dengan kemandirian santriwati kelas 1 dan 2 di Pesantren Al-Basyariyah Bandung. Menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional, penelitian ini melibatkan 172 responden yang dipilih berdasarkan teknik sampling Isaac dan Michael. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dengan 77 pertanyaan, menggunakan skala dari Noom (2001), Cutrona & Russell (1983), serta Schutte et al. (1998). Uji Spearman Rho digunakan karena data tidak berdistribusi normal, dengan asumsi klasik yang terpenuhi.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hubungan positif signifikan antara dukungan teman sebaya dan kemandirian (r = 0.601, p < 0.01), serta hubungan negatif signifikan antara kecerdasan emosional dan kemandirian (r = -0.741, p < 0.01). Selain itu, dukungan teman sebaya dan kecerdasan emosional juga berkorelasi negatif (r = -0.617, p < 0.01). Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa interaksi sosial di pesantren berpengaruh terhadap kemandirian santriwati. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi pendidikan yang menyeimbangkan dukungan sosial dan pengembangan kecerdasan emosional guna meningkatkan kemandirian secara optimal.
Independence is a crucial aspect for female students in facing life in dormitories and the social environment of Islamic boarding schools. This study aims to analyze the relationship between peer support and emotional intelligence with the independence of female students in grades 1 and 2 at Al-Basyariyah Islamic Boarding School, Bandung. Using a quantitative approach with a correlational method, this research involved 172 respondents selected based on Isaac and Michael's sampling technique. Data were collected through a questionnaire consisting of 77 questions, utilizing scales from Noom (2001), Cutrona & Russell (1983), and Schutte et al. (1998). The Spearman Rho test was used as the data were not normally distributed, with classical assumptions met.
The results indicate a significant positive relationship between peer support and independence (r = 0.601, p < 0.01), as well as a significant negative relationship between emotional intelligence and independence (r = -0.741, p < 0.01). Additionally, peer support and emotional intelligence also showed a significant negative correlation (r = -0.617, p < 0.01). These findings emphasize that social interactions within the Islamic boarding school environment influence students' independence. Therefore, an educational strategy that balances social support and emotional intelligence development is needed to optimize students' independence.
