Abstract
Kepedulian masyarakat terhadap anak berkebutuhan khusus merupakan salah satu hal yang tidak terlepas dari sebuah interaksi masyarakat terhadap lingkungannya, berangkat dari adanya permasalahan ketidak pahaman masyarakat mengenai anak berkebutuhan khusus maka berpengaruh terhadap interaksi sosial maupun sikap masyarakat terhadap anak-anak tersebut. Bertitik tolak dari permasalahan tersebut maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh data tentang kepedulian masyarakat terhadap anak berkebutuhan khusus di lingkungan SLB Negeri B Sumedang yang berlokasi di Dusun Margamukti Desa Licin Kecamatan Cimalaka Kabupaten Sumedang, yang meliputi pengetahuan masyarakat terhadap anak berkebutuhan khusus, interaksi sosial masyarakat dengan anak berkebutuhan khusus, sikap masyarakat terhadap anak berkebutuhan khusus dan pandangan terhadap pendidikan bagi anak berkebutuhan khusus. Demi mencapai tujuan tersebut, maka digunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualtitatif. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian adalah dengan observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepedulian masyarakat terhadap anak berkebutuhan khusus belum terjalin dengan baik, hal ini dikarenakan masih ada masyarakat yang kurang memiliki pengetahuan yang cukup mengenai anak berkebutuhan khusus dan tidak mau berinteraksi dengan anak berkebutuhan khusus. Melalui penelitian ini, peneliti menyampaikan rekomendasi untuk masyarakat dan bagi para peneliti berikutnya agar menunjukkan kepeduliannya terhadap keberadaan anak berkebutuhan khusus. Abtract : Community care for children with special needs is one thing that can not be separated from a community interaction to the environment, departing from their unfamiliarity community issues regarding children with special needs, the effect on social interaction and attitudes towards these children. Based on these problems, this study aims to collect data about community care for children with special needs in the State B SLB SumedangMargamukti hamlet located in the Village District of Cimalaka Slippery Sumedang District, which includes the knowledge society towards children with special needs, social interaction with children with special needs, attitudes towards children with special needs and views on the education of children with special needs. To achieve these objectives, we used descriptive method kualtitatif approach. The data collection techniques were carried out in the study is the observation, interview and documentation. The results showed that public awareness of children with special needs have not been well established, this is because there are still people who lack sufficient knowledge of children with special needs and do not want to interact with children with special needs. Through this study, researchers make recommendations for the community and for subsequent researchers that show concern for the presence of children with special needs.
