Abstract
ABSTRAK Isu pemberitaan mengenai Kekerasan Berbasis Gender Online (KBGO) masih marak terjadi serta berdampak pada aspek psikologis dan sosial masyarakat. Hal ini menyebabkan adanya diskusi serta tanggapan yang menunjukkan perubahan ke arah kontemporer. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji wacana kesadaran publik sebagai dampak tayangan KBGO terhadap persepsi identitas gender kontemporer. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah mix method dengan desain exploratory sequential yakni menggabungkan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Pendekatan kualitatif dilakukan melalui analisis wacana kritis terhadap tiga media sosial pemberitaan untuk mengeksplorasi transformasi dan persepsi identitas gender kontemporer. Sementara itu, pendekatan kuantitatif menggunakan metode deskriptif untuk mengukur tingkat pengaruh kesadaran publik sebagai dampak tayangan tersebut terhadap persepsi identitas gender kontemporer. Hasil penelitian yaitu : 1) adanya tiga jenis transformasi identitas gender berupa transformasi identitas pasif ke aktif, transformasi identitas dari penerimaan ke penolakan, dan transformasi kesadaran ke arah identitas kolektif; 2) persepsi identitas gender kontemporer di media sosial menunjukkan dualisme, yaitu persepsi yang mengarah pada transformasi kontemporer serta persepsi yang melanggengkan norma tradisional; 3) tingkat kesadaran publik sebagai dampak tayangan tersebut cukup signifikan; 4) tingkat persepsi identitas gender kontemporer juga cukup signifikan; dan 5) besaran pengaruh kesadaran publik sebagai dampak tayangan KBGO terhadap persepsi identitas gender kontemporer menunjukkan hubungan signifikan. Penelitian ini diharapkan memberikan wawasan penting bagi kajian kontemporer mengenai identitas gender dan perubahannya serta perkembangan persepsi yang dinamis. Selain itu, harapannya penelitian ini dapat bermanfaat dalam kebijakan terkait. Kata Kunci : Identitas Gender, Kekerasan Gender Online, Kesadaran Publik, Media Sosial, Transformasi Gender. ABSTRACT The issue of reporting on Online Gender-Based Violence (OGBV) is still rampant and affects the psychological and social aspects of society. This has led to discussions and responses that indicate a shift towards contemporary changes. This research aims to examine the discourse of public awareness as an impact of OBGV broadcasts on contemporary gender identity perceptions. The research design used is a mixed method with an exploratory sequential design, which combines qualitative and quantitative approaches. The qualitative approach was conducted through critical discourse analysis of three news social media platforms to explore the transformation and perception of contemporary gender identity. Meanwhile, the quantitative approach uses descriptive methods to measure the level of public awareness impact as a result of the broadcast on contemporary gender identity perception. The research results are as follows: 1) the presence of three types of gender identity transformations, namely the transformation of identity from passive to active, the transformation of identity from acceptance to rejection, and the transformation of awareness towards collective identity; 2) contemporary gender identity perceptions on social media show dualism, namely perceptions that lead to contemporary transformations and perceptions that perpetuate traditional norms; 3) the level of public awareness as an impact of the broadcast is quite significant; 4) the level of contemporary gender identity perception is also quite significant; and 5) the magnitude of the influence of public awareness as an impact of the OBGV broadcast on contemporary gender identity perception shows a significant relationship. This research is expected to provide important insights for contemporary studies on gender identity and its changes, as well as the development of dynamic perceptions. In addition, it is hoped that this research can be beneficial in related policies. Keywords: Gender Identity, Online Gender Violence, Public Awareness, Social Media, Gender Transformation.
