Abstract
Kabupaten Sumedang merupakan daerah yang rentan terhadap bencana, khususnya bencana geologi seperti gempa bumi. Berdasarkan letak geografis dan bahaya gempa bumi yang dapat terjadi secara mendadak kapan saja, penting bagi masyarakat terutama anak- anak yang termasuk kedalam kelompok rentan untuk memahami tentang mitigasi bencana sebagai bentuk pencegahan terjadinya keparahan akibat bencana. Salah satu metode yang dianggap efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap siswa adalah metode simulasi bencana. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan metode simulasi bencana dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap siswa dalam menghadapi bencana gempa bumi. Metode penelitian ini penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kuasi-eksperimental dengan desain nonequivalent group control. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SDN Sukamaju dengan jumlah sampel siswa sebanyak 56 siswa. Penggunaaan metode simulasi bencana efektif meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap siswa kelompok intervensi di SDN Sukamaju dengan hasil uji N-Gain Score dengan hasil Intervensi berupa simulasi bencana terbukti lebih efektif dibandingkan tanpa intervensi. Pada variabel pengetahuan, kelompok intervensi mencapai kategori cukup efektif (63,1%) dibandingkan kelompok kontrol yang hanya kurang efektif (43,89%). Hal serupa terlihat pada variabel sikap, di mana kelompok intervensi juga cukup efeketif (66,45%), sementara kelompok kontrol kurang efektif (46,92%). Sumedang Regency is an area that is vulnerable to disasters, especially geological disasters such as earthquakes. Based on the geographical location and the danger of earthquakes that can occur suddenly at any time, it is important for the community, especially children who are included in vulnerable groups, to understand about disaster mitigation as a form of prevention of disaster severity. One method that is considered effective in improving students' knowledge and attitudes is the disaster simulation method. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of using the disaster simulation method in improving students' knowledge and attitudes in dealing with earthquake disasters. This research method used a quasi-experimental type of research with a nonequivalent group control design. This research was conducted at SDN Sukamaju with a sample size of 56 students. The use of disaster simulation methods effectively increases the knowledge and attitudes of intervention group students at SDN Sukamaju with the results of the N-Gain Score test with the results of the intervention in the form of disaster simulation proving to be more effective than without intervention. In the knowledge variable, the intervention group reached the moderately effective category (63.1%) compared to the control group which was only less effective (43.89%). The same thing was seen in the attitude variable, where the intervention group was also quite effective (66.45%), while the control group was less effective (46.92%).
