Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh kenyataan yang ada di lapangan bahwa hasil belajar siswa masih kurang memuaskan khususnya pada mata pelajaran IPA materi tentang energi dan gerak benda. Pada materi-materi sebelumnya, hasil belajar siswa menunjukkan hasil yang kurang memuaskan sehingga untuk penelitian ini, penulis mencoba melakukan pre test dan hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata yang diperoleh tidak mencapai KKM. Hal ini dikarenakan pada proses pembelajaran guru kurang memperhatikan instrumen pembelajaran yang mendukung, proses pembelajaran hanya berlangsung seperti LKS yang digunakan hanya berbentuk perintah, sehingga siswa kurang memahami. Penelitian ini menggunakan penerapan metode demonstrasi yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana penerapan metode demonstrasi dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA tentang pokok bahasan energi dan gerak benda di kelas III SDN Sukasari I Kecamatan Sukajadi Kota Bandung. Metode penelitian ini digunakan dalam penelitian penelitian tindakan di kelas. Dimana penelitian tindakan kelas ini adalah siswa kelas III SDN Sukasari I Kecamatan Sukajadi Kota Bandung yang terdiri dari 12 orang laki-laki dan 14 orang perempuan. Instrument yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa soal tes, demonstrasi dan lembar observasi. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I memperoleh nilai rata-rata 67.30 siswa sebanyak 16 orang dengan persentase pencapaian KKM 61.5%. Sedangkan 10 orang yang belum memenuhi KKM dengan persentase 38.5% ini menunjukkan bahwa pada siklus I belum mencapai KKM. Sedangkan pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan rata-rata 78.07 siswa yang mencapai KKM ada 24 orang atau 92%. Sedangkan siswa yang belum memenuhi KKM hanya 2 orang atau 8% hal ini menunjukkan bahwa siklus II sudah mencapai 85% siswa dan memperoleh rata-rata di atas KKM. Berdasarkan persiapan pengajaran yang dilakukan semakin baik, dimana peneliti menggunakan metode demonstrasi yang memberikan pengalaman langsung kepada siswa terhadap percobaan-percobaan yang mereka lakukan sehingga proses belajar siswa pun semakin kondusif dan hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan ini membuktikan bahwa penerapan metode demonstrasi dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Kata Kunci : Metode Demonstrasi dan Hasil Belajar This study was motivated by the fact that there is in the field that student learning outcomes are still not satisfactory especially in science subjects matter of energy and motion of objects. In the previous materials, student learning outcomes showed unsatisfactory results so for this study, the authors try to do the pre-test and the results showed that the average obtained did not reach KKM. This is because the learning process is less teacher attention to instruments that support learning, the learning process takes place just like worksheets that are used only in the form of command, so that students are less understood. This study uses application demonstration method that aims to determine the extent of implementation of demonstration method can improve student learning outcomes in science teaching on the subject of energy and motion of objects in the class III SDN Sukasari I Sukajadi District of Bandung. The research method used in research studies in the class action. Where this classroom action research is third grade students of SDN Sukasari I Hummingbird District of Bandung, which consisted of 12 men and 14 women. Instrument used in this research is a matter of testing, demonstration and observation sheet. The results showed that the learning outcomes of students in the first cycle to obtain an average value of 67.30 students as many as 16 people with the percentage achieved 61.5% KKM. While 10 people who have not met with percentage 38.5% KKM This shows that in the first cycle has not reached the KKM. While on the second cycle increased average 78.07 students who achieve KKM 24 people or 92%. While students who have not met the KKM only 2 people or 8%, this indicates that the second cycle has reached 85% of students and the average gain over the KKM. Based on teaching preparation is done the better, where researchers use a method that gives a demonstration to the students directly experience the trials they are doing so that the students became more conducive learning and increase student learning outcomes of this demonstration proves that the application of the method can improve student learning outcomes .
