Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran IPA, hal ini ditandai dengan rata-rata kelas mencapai 46.06, dengan persentase ketuntasan belajar 17.24%. Dalam rangka memperbaiki hasil belajar siswa peneliti menerapkan metode eksperimen sebagai pemecahannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (Classroom Action Research) dengan desain pembelajaran kelompok. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V SD Negeri Cibeunying. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui upaya meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa melalui penerapan metode eksperimen pada materi sifat – sifat cahaya. Hasil penelitian dengan penerapan metode eksperimen pada pembelajaran IPA di kelas V SD Negeri Cibeunying menunjukkan peningkatan pada perencanaaan, pelaksanaan, dan hasil belajar siswa pada aspek kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor pada setiap siklusnya. Pada siklus I rata-rata kelas mencapai nilai 73.46 dengan persentase ketuntasan belajar 81%. Pada siklus II nilai rata-rata kelas meningkat menjadi 83.63 dengan ketuntasan belajar mencapai persentase 100%. Pada hasil belajar ranah afektif pembelajaran siklus I, kategori baik memperoleh persentase sebesar 15,38%, kategori cukup memperoleh persentase sebesar 61.54% dan kategori kurang memperoleh persentase sebesar 23.08%. Hasil belajar ranah afektif pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan, semua siswa berada pada kategori baik dengan persentase 100%. Pada hasil belajar ranah psikomotor siklus I, kategori baik memperoleh persentase sebesar 46.15%, kategori cukup memperoleh persentase sebesar 34.5% dan kategori kurang memperoleh persentase sebesar 19.23%. Pada siklus II semua siswa berada pada kategori baik dengan persentase 100%. Penelitian ini dapat menjadi sumbangan yang positif bagi guru, siswa, sekolah dan peneliti selanjutnya dalam menerapkan metode eksperimen pada pembelajaran IPA sebagai upaya meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. This research is motivated by the lack of student learning outcomes on science learning, it is characterized by the average value of the class reached 46.06, with the percentage of mastery learning 17, 24%. In order to improve student learning outcomes researchers applied the experimental method as a solution with group learning designs. Subjects were fifth grade students of SD Negeri Cibeunying. The purpose of this study was to determine the effort to improve student learning outcomes through the application of experiment methods in traits of light. The results of the application of the experiment method of research on science learning in fifth grade Elementary School Cibeunying showed an increase in of planning, implementation, and student learning outcomes in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor at each cycle. Cognitive learning outcomes of students in the first cycle reaches an average grade 73.46 with 81% percentage of mastery learning, the second cycle of the average value is 83.63 with percentage mastery learning of the class into 100%. In the affective domain of learning outcomes first cycle, percentage of good categories is 15.38%, percentage of enough category 61.54% and the percentage of less category 23. 08%, on the second cycle of all students are in either category with persentese reaches 100%. In the psychomotor domain of learning outcomes first cycle, percentage of good categories is 46.15%, percentage of enough category 34.5 % and the percentage of less category 19.23 %, on the second cycle of all students are in either category with persentese reaches 100%. This study can be a positive contribution for teachers, students, schools and further research in applying the experimental method in science learning as an effort to improve student learning outcomes.
