    Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of ice massage and cold bath on reducing lactic acid levels in soccer athletes. This study uses a quantitative experimental method with the Two-Group Pretest Posttest Design model. 6 athletes of UKM Football University of Education Indonesia made the research subjects with purposive sampling technique. The procedure of this study is to provide high-intensity training activities using the Yo-Yo Intermittent test Recovery Test to increase lactic acid levels which are then carried out the Accutrend lactacid test, after which ice massage and cold bath treatments are given to athletes with a duration of 15 minutes, then the Accutrend lactacid test is carried out again. The research instrument used in this is Accutrend lactacid is a tool that functions to determine lactic acid levels in someone who exercises. Based on the results of data processing, it is found that the ice massage and cold bath methods have a significant effect on reducing lactic acid levels, and it is known from the comparison that the ice massage and cold bath methods on reducing lactic acid levels have no significant difference.
