    Abstract

    Institusi pendidikan harus merancang setiap siswa agar mempunyai keterampilan
    abad 21, khususnya kemampuan berpikir kritis pada mata pelajaran IPAS. Berpikir
    kritis memegang peranan penting dalam proses pembelajaran karena mampu
    merangsang kemampuan berpikir kognitif siswa. Penyebab rendahnya kemampuan
    berpikir kritis menjadi dasar dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian dibuat dengan tujuan
    untuk mengetahui pengaruh model discovery learning berbantuan media powtoon
    dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis pada materi perubahan wujud
    benda. Selain itu untuk menganalisis peningkatan nilai akhir kemampuan berpikir
    kritis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran menggunakan model discovery
    learning berbantuan media powtoon dan siswa yang memakai pendekatan saintifik.
    Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain non�equavalent pre-test pos-test control group dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 51 siswa.
    Instrumen yang digunakan yakni tes pre-test dan pos-test, serta non tes, observasi
    dan dokumentasi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan pengaruh model discovery learning
    berbantuan media powtoon sebesar 51,9%. Hasil uji N-gain untuk kelas eksperimen
    berada pada kualifikasi tinggi, sementara kelas kontrol berada pada tingkatan
    sedang. Hal ini berarti penggunaan model discovery learning berbantuan media
    powtoon lebih baik daripada pendekatan saintifik. Peneliti merekomendasikan
    penelitian selanjutnya untuk fokus pada ranah afektif dan psikomotorik.

    Educational institutions must design every student to have 21st century skills,
    especially the ability to think critically in science subjects. Critical thinking plays
    an important role in the learning process because it can stimulate students'
    cognitive thinking abilities. The causes of low critical thinking skills are the basis
    for this research. The research was conducted with the aim of finding out the effect
    of the discovery learning model assisted by Powtoon media in improving critical
    thinking skills on the material of changes in the shape of objects. Apart from that,
    to analyze the increase in the final score of critical thinking skills of students who
    received learning using the discovery learning model assisted by Powtoon media
    and students who used a scientific approach. The research method used was quasi�experimental with a non-equavalent pre-test post-test control group design with a
    total of 51 students. The instruments used are pre-test and post-test, as well as non�test, observation and documentation. The results of the analysis show that the
    influence of the discovery learning model assisted by Powtoon media is 51.9%. The
    N-gain test results for the experimental class are at a high qualification, while the
    control class is at a medium level. This means that using the discovery learning
    model assisted by Powtoon media is better than the scientific approach.
    Researchers recommend that future research focus on the affective and
    psychomotor domains.
