Abstract

Berdasarkan sejumlah riset, permasalahan yang muncul dalam pembelajaran berkarya musik adalah siswa kurang percaya diri karena merasa pengetahuan dan literasi musikal rendah. Selain itu, juga muncul kekhawatiran guru tentang keterbatasan kemampuan dan pengetahuan awal musik siswa. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan inovasi model pembelajaran dengan memanfaatkan teknologi untuk membantu siswa berkarya musik. Di sisi lain, banyak inovasi dalam pembelajaran musik berbasis teknologi yang mampu memotivasi siswa untuk belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model pembelajaran berkarya musik dengan menggunakan fitur Song Maker pada Chrome Music Lab. Penelitian ini diharapkan siswa mampu berpikir kritis dan kreatif. Metode penelitian menggunakan Design-based Research dengan pendekatan Mix Methods Research tipe exploratory. Tahap penelitian meliputi Grounding, Conjecturing, Iterating dan Reflecting. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berkarya musik menggunakan strategi problem-based learning dengan teknik Substitute, Combine dan Adapt (SCA) berbantukan fitur Song Maker mampu mendukung siswa berpikir kritis dan kreatif. Siswa mampu mengolah nada, irama, harmoni, tempo, struktur, warna dan motif untuk mengilustrasikan kemacetan lalu lintas. Implikasi penelitian ini adalah penggunaan fitur Song Maker ternyata memotivasi dan memudahkan siswa dalam berkarya musik, sehingga dapat menepis anggapan bahwa pembelajaran berkarya musik sulit dilaksanakan apabila siswa tidak memiliki latar belakang musik yang memadai.

Based on a number of studies, the problem that arises in learning to create music is that students lack self-confidence because they feel their musical knowledge and literacy is low. Apart from that, teachers also had concerns about the limited abilities and initial knowledge of students' music. Therefore, innovative learning models are needed that utilize technology to help students create music. On the other hand, there are many innovations in technology-based music learning that can motivate students to learn. This research aims to develop a learning model for creating music using the Song Maker feature in Chrome Music Lab. This research hopes that students will be able to think critically and creatively. The research method uses Design-based Research with an exploratory Mix Methods Research approach. The research stages include Grounding, Conjecturing, Iterating and Reflecting. The research results show that learning to create music using a problem-based learning strategy with the Substitute, Combine and Adapt (SCA) technique assisted by the Song Maker feature is able to support students' critical and creative thinking. Students are able to process tone, rhythm, harmony, tempo, structure, color and motive to illustrate traffic jams. The implication of this research is that using the Song Maker feature actually motivates and makes it easier for students to create music, thereby dispelling the assumption that learning to create music is difficult if students do not have an adequate musical background.
