    Abstract

    Bahasa memiliki peranan yang penting dalam kehidupan manusia dikarenakan bahasa merupakan alat untuk menyampaikan informasi, maksud dan tujuan. Bahasa Inggris disebut sebagai bahasa kedua atau second language, karena mempunyai kedudukan sebagai bahasa internasional dikalangan masyarakat Indonesia. Kemampuan berbahasa Inggris menjadi modal dasar seseorang dalam persaingan global. Perlunya kesadaran dalam pentingnya memiliki keterampilan bahasa Inggris di era globalisasi ini untuk diajarkan dari pemula hingga mahir di Indonesia. Berdasarkan yang terjadi dilapangan terdapat pihak yang kurang menyadari dan kurang peduli pentingnya mengenalkan kosakata bahasa Inggris kepada peserta didik. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil pretes mengenai kemampuan awal bahasa Inggris berupa alfabet, angka, dan kosakata benda yang ada di kelas mendapatkan rata rata nilai 66,85 dengan skor tertinggi 88,88 dan skor terendah sebesar 33,33 kepada peserta didik di SD Negeri 1 Ciwareng, Kecamatan Babakancikao, Kabupaten Purwakarta terdapat permasalahan siswa kelas II dalam penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris. Permasalahan tersebut dikarenakan siswa tidak biasa dalam mengenal bahasa Inggris sejak usia dini. Kemampuan kosakata bahasa Inggris peserta didik kelas II di SDN 1 Ciwareng Kabupaten Purwakarta dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran game based learning berbantuan game edukasi educandy menunjukkan hasil yang sangat baik dari sebelumnya. Hal ini dapat dilihat berdasarkan hasil dari tes evaluasi peserta didik selama pembelajaran pada siklus I mendapat persentase sebesar 65,88 atau dengan persentase 64,70% peserta didik yang tuntas sebanyak 22 orang, dan nilai rata-rata pada siklus II mencapai nilai sebesar 84,70 atau dengan persentase 85,29% peserta didik yang tuntas sebanyak 29 orang

    Language has an important role in human life because language is a tool to convey
    information, aims and purposes. English is referred to as a second language or
    second language, because it has a position as an international language among the people
    of Indonesia. The ability to speak English is a person's basic capital in global competition.
    The a need for awareness of the importance of having English skills in this era of
    globalization to be taught from beginner to advanced in Indonesia. Based on what happens
    in the field, some parties are less aware and less concerned about the importance of
    introducing English vocabulary to students. This can be seen from the pretest results
    regarding the initial English skills in the form of alphabet, numbers, and noun vocabulary
    in the class getting an average score of 66.85 with the highest score of 88.88 and the lowest
    score of 33.33 students at SD Negeri 1 Ciwareng, Babakancikao District, Purwakarta
    Regency there are problems for grade II students in mastering English vocabulary. This
    problem is because students are not used to knowing English from an early age. The English
    vocabulary skills of grade II students at SDN 1 Ciwareng, Purwakarta Regency by applying
    a game-based learning model assisted by educandy educational games show very good
    results than before. This can be seen based on the results of the student evaluation test
    during learning in cycle I got a percentage of 65.88 or with a percentage of 64.70% of
    students who completed as many as 22 people, and the average score in cycle II reached a
    value of 84.70 or with a percentage of 85.29% of students who completed as many as 29
    people.
