Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan struktur cerita Jaka Tarub dan Namukkun�gwa Seonnyeo (나무꾼과 선녀). Keduanya memiliki garis besar cerita yang sama, namun
terdapat beberapa perbedaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori struktur naratif milik A.J.
Greimas dengan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Cerita Jaka Tarub menghasilkan 12 struktur
aktansial. Cerita (namukkun-gwa seonnyeo) 나무꾼과 선녀 menghasilkan 13 struktur
cerita aktansial. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah ditemukannya lima persamaan struktur
aktan dan sembilan perbedaan struktur aktansial dari 25 struktur aktansial yang ada pada
kedua dongeng. Perbedaan jumlah struktur aktan disebabkan oleh adanya penambahan
tokoh yang ada dalam cerita Namukkun-gwa Seonnyeo (나무꾼과 선녀). Pada penelitian
ini ditemukan juga persamaan dan perbedaan struktur fungsional. Dari struktur fungsional
kedua dongeng, dapat dilihat persamaan yang ada, yaitu kedua dongeng memiliki awal dan
akhir cerita yang sama. Sedangkan perbedaan ditunjukan pada dinamika konflik pada alur
cerita kedua dongeng. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapatnya perbedaan struktur
cerita pada dua cerita dongeng negara berbeda meskipun kedua cerita dongeng tersebut
memiliki garis besar yang sama. Adanya penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menambah
wawasan mengenai teori struktur naratif milik A.J. Greimas yang dapat dipakai untuk
meneliti cerita rakyat dan menjadi referensi untuk penelitian selanjutnya.
This research aims to compare the narrative structures of the stories "Jaka Tarub" and
"Namukkun-gwa Seonnyeo" (나무꾼과 선녀). Both of them share a similar storyline, but
there are several differences. This study utilizes A.J. Greimas' theory of narrative structure
using a qualitative descriptive method. The story of "Jaka Tarub" yields 12 actantial
structures, while the story of "Namukkun-gwa Seonnyeo" (나무꾼과 선녀) produces 13
actantial story structures. The findings of this research reveal five common actantial
structures and nine differing actantial structures out of the 25 actantial structures present in
both folktales. The difference in the number of actantial structures is attributed to the
addition of characters in the story of "Namukkun-gwa Seonnyeo" (나무꾼과 선녀). This
research also identifies similarities and differences in functional structures. From the
functional structures of both tales, similarities are observed, specifically in the shared
beginning and ending of the stories. However, differences are evident in the conflict
dynamics within the plot of the two tales. The conclusion drawn from this study is that
there are structural disparities in the narratives of these two folktales from different
countries, despite their shared overarching themes. This research is expected to broaden
insights into A.J. Greimas' theory of narrative structure, applicable for studying folktales
and serving as a reference for future research.
