Abstract

Karya sastra adalah sebuah penggambaran kenyataan sosial yang mana didalamnya terdapat penggambaran tentang kehidupan yang betul terjadi saat itu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan dan menganalisis cerita rakyat Hong Gil-dong dari Korea Selatan dan Pitung dari Indonesia yang memiliki kemiripan tema dan jalan cerita. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk membandingkan strukturalisme cerita Hong Gil-dong dan Pitung, dan membandingkan latar sosial kedua cerita. Objek penelitian pada penelitian ini adalah novel Hong Gil-dong Jeon karya Heo Gyun dan novel Pitung karya Rizki Ridyasmara. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif komparatif dengan menggunakan teori penelitian sastra bandingan dan sosiologi sastra. Data yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini menemukan tema dari kedua cerita memiliki kesamaan. Adapun tokoh, latar, dan alur berbeda. Terdapat empat komponen yang menjadi latar sosial cerita, yakni struktur sosial, etika dan moral, agama dan kepercayaan, dan sistem politik. Kesamaan pada latar sosial tertuang pada struktur sosial, yang mana terdapat sistem kasta dan ketidaksetaraan gender, serta etika dan moral berupa penyalahgunaan kekuasaan. Sementara pada latar sosial terkait agama dan kepercayaan serta sistem politiknya berbeda. Cerita Hong Gil-dong mengangkat Konfusianisme dan Shamanisme, sedangkan pada cerita Pitung mengangkat nilai-nilai agama Islam. Pada sistem politik, Hong Gil-dong berlatar kerajaan, sementara Pitung berlatar kolonialisme. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan penggambaran terkait latar sosial Indonesia dan Korea yang tertuang pada karya sastra. Literary works are a depiction of social reality in which there is a depiction of life that really happened at that time. This research aims to compare and analyze the folktales of Hong Gil-dong from South Korea and Pitung from Indonesia which have similar themes and storylines. This research is conducted to compare the structuralism of Hong Gil-dong and Pitung stories, and compare the social settings of the two stories. The research objects in this study are the novel Hong Gil-dong Jeon by Heo Gyun and the novel Pitung by Rizki Ridyasmara. This research uses a comparative descriptive method by using the theory of comparative literature research and literary sociology. The data obtained from this study found that the themes of the two stories are similar. The characters, setting, and plot are different. There are four components that make up the social setting of the story, namely social structure, ethics and morals, religion and beliefs, and the political system. Similarities in the social setting are contained in the social structure, where there is a caste system and gender inequality, as well as ethics and morals in the form of abuse of power. Meanwhile, the social settings related to religion and beliefs and the political system are different. The Hong Gil-dong story promotes Confucianism and Shamanism, while the Pitung story promotes Islamic religious values. In the political system, Hong Gil-dong is set in the kingdom, while Pitung is set in colonialism. This research is expected to provide a description of the social settings of Indonesia and Korea in literary works.
