Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika memiliki konsep ataupun topik yang saling berkaitan satu sama lain, dimana hal tersebut sebagai dasar untuk dapat menguasai konsep ataupun topik selanjutnya. Akan tetapi, pembelajaran matematika terutama pada materi perkalian dianggap oleh sebagian siswa merupakan pembelajaran yang sulit dan membosankan. Selain itu ditemukan pula rendahnya pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep dasar perkalian dimana dalam proses pembelajaran materi perkalian siswa mengandalkan hapalan tanpa mengetahui konsep yang mendasarinya hal ini disebabkan oleh keterbatasan penggunaan media pembelajaran. Sehingga dalam hal ini peneliti berfokus pada hal tersebut yaitu dengan mengunakan media pembelajaran. Media pembelajaran yang digunakan adalah cup perkalian. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya pengaruh penggunaan media cup perkalian (CUPPER) terhadap kemampuan fakta dasar kali siswa kelas II SD. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian quasi experimental dengan desain penelitian menggunakan nonequivalent control group design. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh media cup perkalian terhadap kemampuan fakta dasar kali siswa kelas II SD. Hal tersebut dapat dibutikan pada kelas eksperimen nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 49,57 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 54,35. Untuk nilai rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen sebesar 88,70 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 74,35. Selisih nilai posttest dengan nilai pretest kelas eksperimen sebesar 39,13 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 21,00, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa 39,13 > 21,00. Mathematics learning has concepts or topics that are interrelated with each other, where it is the basis for being able to master the next concept or topic. However, math learning, especially in multiplication material, is considered by some students to be difficult and boring learning. In addition, it was also found that students' low understanding of the basic concepts of multiplication where in the learning process of multiplication material students rely on memorization without knowing the underlying concepts this is due to the limited use of learning media. So in this case the researcher focuses on this by using learning media. The learning media used is the multiplication cup. The purpose of this study is to determine whether or not there is an effect of using the multiplication cup media (CUPPER) on the ability of basic facts of times for grade II elementary school students. This research uses quasi experimental research method with research design using nonequivalent control group design. The results of this study indicate that there is an effect of multiplication cup media on the ability of basic facts of times of grade II elementary school students. This can be proven in the experimental class pretest average value of 49.57 and control class of 54.35. For the posttest average value, the experimental class was 88.70 and the control class was 74.35. The difference between the posttest value and the pretest value of the experimental class was 39.13 and the control class is 21.00, it can be concluded that 39.13> 21.00.
