Abstract
PKN dengan paradigma baru hendaknya dapat mengembangkan kelas sebagai democratic laboratory, yang dapat menanamkan dan mensosialisasikan kepada peserta didik nilai-nilai demokrasi, untuk dipraktikan dalam kehidupannya sehingga sikap demokratis akan terbentuk dimulai di lingkungan sekolah. Namun dewasa ini upaya meningkatkan sikap demokratis di berbagai lingkungan di Indonesia, termasuk dilingkungan sekolah menunjukkan keprihatinan. Karena itu peneliti mencoba menerapkan model pembelajaran demokratis dan mengembangkan materi PKN berbasis kontekstual pada PBM PKN dengan tujuan ingi mengetahui peningkatan sikap demokratis pada siswa. Penelitian ini berpijak pada pendapat John Dewey yang melihat adanya hubungan yang erat antara pendidikan dan demokrasi, dengan pendidikan demokrasi dapat tumbuh dan berkembang. Hal ini diperkuat pula oleh pernyataan Alexis de Tocqueville bahwa sikap dan perilaku demokratis itu tidak diwariskan, tetapi harus dipelihara dan dipupuk melalui perkataan, pengajaran serta keteladanan. Dengan demikian perlu dikembangkan pembelajaran demokratis melalui PKN agar terbentuk sikap dan perilaku demokratis pada siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua pendekatan yaitu kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan pola the dominant-less dominant design dari cresswell. Metode penelitian yang digunakana dalah metode quasi eksperimen dengan disain Pretest-Posttest, Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah angket, skala sikap, wawancara, observasi. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan Cluster Sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran demokrasi dengan pengembangan materi pembelajaran PKN berbasis kontekstual pada proses pembelajaran PKN memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap peningkatan sikap demokratis siswa. PBM ditandai dengan tingginya keaktifan dan partisipasi siswa, ini terlihat dari adanya dialog interaktif yang baik antara siswa dengan guru ataupun siswa dengan siswa. Didukung pula oleh materi PKN yang berkaitan dengan konteks lingkungan siswa berada. Selanjutnya diharapkan guru PKN secara profesional dapat mengembangkan inovasi pembelajaran melalui variasi model-model pembelajaran yang mengarah pada iklim pembelajaran yang kondusif bernuansa demokratis Civic education with new paradigm ought to get to develop class as democratic laboratory , that gets to implant and socialisation point democratizes to educative participants, it can be practiced in daily life at school so democratic attitude will form to begin there. In consequence needs learning strategy to develop students democratic attitude.. But today's efforts to increase democratic attitudes in various environments in Indonesia, including the environment of the school showed concern. Therefore researchers tried to apply the model of democratic learning and developing contextual material on a learning based civic education with intending to know the purpose of improvement of democratic attitudes in students. The research was based on the opinion of John Dewey who saw the close connection between education and democracy, with democratic education can grow and develop. This was confirmed also by Alexis de Tocqueville's statement that democratic attitudes and behavior are not inherited, but must be nurtured and fostered through the words, teachings and exemplary. Thus the need to develop democratic learning through civic education in order to form democratic attitudes and behaviors in students. This study used two approaches namely quantitative and qualitative patterns of the dominant-less dominant design of Cresswell. The research method experiments with the method quasi Pretest-posttest design, Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The data collection techniques used were questionnaires, attitude scales, interviews, observation. The sampling technique using Cluster Sampling. The results showed that application of the learning model of democracy with the development of learning materials based civic education contextual learning are contributing positively to the increase in students' democratic attitudes. Learning is characterized by high activity and participation of students, is evident from the existence of good interactive dialogue between students and teachers or students with students. Civic education also supported by material relating to the environmental context of the students were. Furthermore, civic education in a professional teacher is expected to be able to develop innovative learning through a variety of models of learning that lead to climate conducive learning nuances of democratic.
