Abstract

This minithesis’s title is "Média komik dina Pangajaran Nulis Karangan Narasi Studi Kuasi Eksperimén ka Siswa Kelas VII A SMP Negeri 15 Bandung Taun Ajaran 2011/2012”. This research was motivated by the opinion that writing is difficult. Besides that, it’s because the lack of variety and innovation in the learning process is also one of the causes of lack of interest from students to write learning. This research was conducted with the aim to describe: (1) the earlier ability of students in VII A Junior High School 15 Bandung in writing a narrative essay before using the comic medium, (2) the last ability of students in VII A Junior High School 15 Bandung in writing a narrative essay before using the comic medium, and (3) the effectiveness of comic media in increasing the ability to write comic narrative of students in VII A Junior High School 15 Bandung. The method was used in this research is quasi-experimental method with an early design test and last design test . Sources of data in this research were 30 students in grade VII A Junior High School 15 Bandung. Processing of data in this reseach used the nature of the test data, test gain, and hypothesis testing. Nature of the test data consists of tests of normality and homogeneity test. The results of normality test showed that the distribution of normal data, based on initial tests (¡¼X^2¡½_itung < ¡¼X^2¡½_tabel is -131,27 < 11,3) and the last test (¡¼X^2¡½_itung < ¡¼X^2¡½_tabél is -128,54 < 11,3). Average test scores early tests is 61.13 and the last test 72.07 with a difference 1.09. Homogeneity test results distribution and variation of the early test and last test which used confidence level is homogeneous 99% is homogen (F_itung < F_tabél) is 1.11 <2.43. Where as by hypothesis testing which used the 99% confidence level, the results is t_itung> t_(tabél.) is 6> 2.39. Because of the significant difference between the earlier test and the last test, then the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is a comic media effectively to improve the ability writing a narrative essay for students in VII A Junior High School 15 Bandung acceptable.
