Abstract

This study entitled Thematic Progression in the Translation of Masaru Emoto’s the True Power of Water is intended to find out the information flow reflected by thematic progression applied in the text. This study employed qualitative method to analyze the data found in the text. The population is the paragraphs in the book which consists of 412 paragraphs. Purposive sampling is applied to explore as much as information in the data resource. Thus, this study took 100 paragraphs as the samples of the research. The investigation shows that linear progression is found in 48 paragraphs with a frequency of 48%, derived progression is found in 34 paragraphs with a frequency of 34%, constant progression is found in 18 paragraphs with a frequency of 18% meanwhile split progression is not found in any paragraphs in the text. This implies that the text is easily comprehended by the readers because the most applied of linear progression reflects the smooth information flowing in the text.
