Abstract

Kemampuan menulis adalah salah satu kemampuan yang sangat krusial dan setiap individu perlu untuk memiliki kemampuan tersebut. Menulis merupakan salah satu kegiatan yang cukup kompleks dan sukar, karenanya banyak siswa yang merasa kesulitan dalam menciptakan sebuah karya tulis yang baik dan benar. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan menulis cerita dongeng siswa yang ditunjukkan dengan sulitnya siswa dalam mencari dan menuangkan ide/gagasan ke dalam bentuk tulisan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 1) kemampuan menulis cerita dongeng siswa sebelum diterapkan model pembelajaran write around berbantuan media gambar seri; 2) kemampuan menulis cerita dongeng siswa setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran write around berbantuan media gambar seri; 3) pengaruh model pembelajaran write around berbantuan media gambar seri terhadap kemampuan menulis cerita dongeng siswa. Adapun jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pre-experimental tipe one group pretest-posttest. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV di salah satu SD di Kabupaten Bandung yang berjumlah 13 siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh kesimpulan: 1) nilai rata-rata hasil pretest kemampuan menulis cerita dongeng siswa sebelum diterapkan model pembelajaran write around berbantuan media gambar seri berada pada kategori cukup; 2) nilai rata-rata hasil posttest kemampuan menulis cerita dongeng siswa setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran write around berbantuan media gambar seri berada pada kategori baik; 3) terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran write around berbantuan media gambar seri terhadap kemampuan menulis cerita dongeng siswa. ----- Writing skill is one of the most crucial skills and every individual needs to have this skill. Writing is an activity that is quite complex and difficult, because of that many students find it difficult to create a good and correct written work. The background of this research is the low skill of writing fairy tales by students which is indicated by the difficulty of students in finding and pouring ideas into written form. This study aims to determine: 1) students' fairy tales writing skill before applying the write around learning model assisted by picture series media; 2) students' fairy tales writing skill after applying the write around learning model assisted by picture series media; 3) the effect of the write around learning model assisted by picture series media on students' fairy tales writing skill. The type of research used is pre-experimental research type one group pretest-posttest. The sample of this research was class 4 in one of the elementary schools in Bandung, totaling 13 students. Based on the results of the study, the following conclusions were obtained: 1) the average value of the pretest results for students' fairy tales writing skill before applying the write around learning model assisted by picture series media was in the sufficient category; 2) the average value of the posttest results of students' fairy tales writing skill after applying the write around learning model assisted by picture series media is in the good category; 3) there is an effect of the write around learning model assisted by picture series media on students' fairy tales writing skill.
