Abstract

Kemampuan menulis merupakan salah satu bentuk keterampilan berbahasa yang sangat penting diajarkan di sekolah dasar. Salah satu keterampilan menulis yang harus diajarkan di sekolah dasar adalah menulis karangan narasi akan tetapi sering terjadinya ketidaksesuaian antara isi karangan, bentuk gambar pada karangan narasi siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui kemampuan menulis karangan narasi siswa sebelum menerapkan model pembelajaran PWIM berbantuan media gambar seri; (2) mengetahui kemampuan menulis karangan narasi siswa sesudah menerapkan model pembelajaran PWIM berbantuan media gambar seri; (3) mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran PWIM berbantuan media gambar seri terhadap kemampuan menulis karangan narasi siswa kelas IV di SDIT Cendekia Purwakarta. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan Pre-Experimental dengan desain One Group Pretest-Posttest. Subjek penelitian ini merupakan 20 siswa kelas IVC. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) kemampuan menulis karangan narasi siswa sebelum menerapkan model pembelajaran PWIM berbantuan media gambar seri adalah cukup dan rendah, hal ini dibuktikan dari hasil pretest didapatkan rata-rata nilai siswa keseluruhan adalah 56; (2) terdapat peningkatan sesudah menerapkan model pembelajaran PWIM berbantuan media gambar seri. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai rata-rata posttest yang meningkat menjadi 85,5; (3) terdapat pengaruh dari model pembelajaran PWIM berbantuan media gambar seri terhadap kemampuan menulis karangan narasi siswa, hal ini berdasarkan pengujian regresi linear sederhana ditunjukkan besaran nilai korelasi atau hubungan (R) yaitu 0,663 sedangkan (R) square menunjukkan angka 0,440 yang berarti besar pengaruh model pembelajaran PWIM berbantuan media gambar seri dengan kemampuan menulis karangan narasi siswa adalah 44% serta rata-rata nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,67 yang berarti menunjukkan kriteria sedang dalam peningkatan kemampuan. ----- Writing ability is one form of language skill which is very important to be taught in elementary school. One of the writing skills that must be taught in elementary schools is writing narrative essays, but there is often a discrepancy between the contents of the essay, the form of images in students' narrative essays. This study aims to (1) determine students' ability to write narrative essays before applying the PWIM learning model assisted by picture series media; (2) knowing the students' ability to write narrative essays after applying the PWIM learning model assisted by picture series media; (3) to determine the effect of the PWIM learning model assisted by picture series media on the ability to write narrative essays for fourth grade students at SDIT Cendekia Purwakarta. This research method uses Pre-Experimental with One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The subjects of this study were 20 students of class IVC. The results showed (1) students' ability to write narrative essays before implementing the PWIM learning model assisted by picture series media was sufficient and low, this was evidenced from the pretest results, the average overall student score was 56; (2) there is an increase after implementing the PWIM learning model assisted by picture series media. This is evidenced by the average posttest score which increased to 85.5; (3) there is an influence from the PWIM learning model assisted by picture series media on students' ability to write narrative essays, this is based on simple linear regression testing showing the magnitude of the correlation value or relationship (R) which is 0.663 while (R) square indicates the number 0.440 which means a large influence the PWIM learning model assisted by picture series media with the ability to write narrative essays for students is 44% and the average N-Gain value is 0.67 which means that the criteria are being improved.
