Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang disebabkan oleh pelaksanaan pembelajaran yang kurang melibatkan siswa dalam keaktifan, kurangnya minat membaca dan guru belum menggunakan indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis yang menyebabkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS menjadi kurang maksimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS di kelas V SDN 4 Nagrikaler Kabupaten Purwakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian pre-eksperiment dan desain penelitian One-Groups Control Pretest-Posttest Desain. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu siswa kelas VB yang berjumlah 27 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes tertulis berupa soal uraian dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: (1) nilai rata-rata kemampuan bepikir kritis siswa sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition sebesar 57,69 dengan nilai tertinggi sebesar 80 dan nilai terendah 32. (2) nilai rata-rata kemampuan bepikir kritis siswa setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition sebesar 81,23 dengan nilai tertinggi sebesar 97 dan nilai terendah 65. Sehingga terdapat perbedaan rata-rata sebelum dan setelah pemberian perlakuan. (3) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan, hal ini dibuktikan dengan uji determinasi (r square) sebesar 0,594 yang artinya besar pengaruh model Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa adalah 59,4% serta rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,56 yang artinya terdapat peningkatan rata-rata menggunakan model Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition dengan kategori sedang. Sehingga model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS. Kata Kunci: Model Pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition, Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis, Pembelajaran IPS. ----- This research is motivated by the lack of students' critical thinking skills caused by the implementation of learning that does not involve students in activeness, lack of interest in reading and the teacher has not used indicators of critical thinking skills which causes students' critical thinking skills in social studies learning to be less than optimal. This study aims to determine the effect of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition learning model on students' critical thinking skills in social studies learning in class V SDN 4 Nagrikaler, Purwakarta Regency. This research uses a quantitative approach with the type of pre-experiment research and the research design One-Groups Control Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample used in the study was 27 class VB students. Data collection techniques used written tests in the form of description questions and documentation. The results showed that: (1) the average value of students' critical thinking skills before using the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition learning model was 57.69 with the highest score of 80 and the lowest score of 32. (2) the average value of students' critical thinking abilities after using the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition learning model of 81.23 with the highest score of 97 and the lowest score of 65. So there is a difference in the average before and after giving treatment. (3) there is a significant effect, this is evidenced by the determination test (r square) of 0.594, which means that the effect of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition model on students' critical thinking skills is 59.4% and the average N-Gain is 0. 56, which means that there is an average increase using the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition model in the moderate category. So that the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition learning model influences students' critical thinking skills in social studies learning.
