Abstract

ABSTRAK Pendidikan merupakan peran yang sangat penting karena melalui pendidikan manusia dapat memperoleh ilmu dan pengetahuan untuk membangkitkan kualitas manusia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kesulitan membaca pada siswa kelas II di SDN Karodangan, mengetahui faktor yang melatarbelakangi kesulitan membaca dan mendeskripsikan upaya guru dalam mengatasi kesulitan membaca tersebut. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil pengamatan di SDN Karodangan bahwa masih terdapat siswa kelas II yang belum lancar dalam membaca permulaan. Oleh karena itu, peneliti melaksanakan analisis terkait kesulitan yang dialami siswa dalam membaca permulaan. Metode penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yang terdiri dari: 1) Pengumpulan Data 2) Reduksi data, 3) Penyajian data, dan 4) Penarikan kesimpulan. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu guru kelas II SDN Karodangan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan: 1) Kesulitan membaca permulaan yang dialami siswa kelas II SDN Karodangan antara lain : sulit membedakan huruf yang bentuknya mirip (seperti b dengan d, dan n dengan m), membaca kata demi kata, keterbatasan memori daya ingat, tidak mampu membaca kluster (seperti kata “banyak” dan “senang”), diftong (seperti kata “selain”), gabungan konsonan (seperti kata “tumbuh” dan “benda”), serta ragu-ragu dan terbata-bata 2) faktor yang melatarbelakangi membaca permulaan antara lain: faktor internal meliputi faktor intelektual dan motivasi, serta faktor eksternal yaitu lingkungan keluarga dan posisi tempat duduk. 3) Upaya yang dilakukan guru dalam mengatasi kesulitan membaca permulaan antara lain: pemberian stimulus pendampingan membaca permulaan sebelum Kegiatan Belajar Mengajar secara mandiri dan juga permainan menyusun kata menjadi kalimat. The purpose of this study was to determine the reading difficulties in grade II students at SDN Karodangan, find out the factors behind reading difficulties and describe the teacher's efforts in overcoming difficulties read the. This research was motivated by observations at SDN Karodangan that there are still grade I I students who are not fluent in initial reading. Therefore, researchers conducted an analysis related to the difficulties experienced by students in beginning reading. This qualitative research method uses the Miles and Huberman model which consists of: 1)Data Collection 2) Data reduction, 3) Data presentation, and 4) Drawing conclusions. The subject of this study was a grade I teacher of SDN Karodangan. The data collection techniques used were interviews and observations. The results of this study showed: 1) Initial reading difficulties experienced by grade I students of SDN Karodangan include: difficulty distinguishing letters that are similar in shape (such as b with d, and n with m), reading word for word, memory limitations, Inability to read clusters (such as the words "many" and "happy"), diphthongs (such as the words "besides"), consonant combinations (such as the words "grow" and "thing"), and hesitation and stammering 2) Factors behind reading the beginning include: Internal factors include: Intellectual and motivational factors, as well as external factors namely family environment and seating position. 3) Efforts made by teachers in overcoming initial reading difficulties include: providing stimulus for initial reading assistance before teaching and learning activities independently and also games to arrange words into sentence.
