Abstract
Rendahnya hasil belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS salah satunya dikarenakan penggunaan media pembelajaran oleh guru belum optimal sehingga siswa merasa jenuh dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan guna mengetahui penggunaan media pembelajaran mistery box dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar IPS siswa pada materi peristiwa kedatangan bangsa Eropa ke Indonesia di kelas V. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas V SDN Satria Jaya 01. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi, tes dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan aktivitas belajar siswa yang diamati oleh peneliti pada setiap siklusnya. Pada siklus I aktivitas belajar siswa dengan indikator penilaian “Baik” hanya terdapat 8 aspek dengan presentase sebesar 47%, dan pada siklus II adanya peningkatan aspek dengan indikator penilaian “Baik” menjadi sebanyak 14 mencapai presentase 82%. Serta adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata dan presentase ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa. Pada pra siklus nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa sangat rendah yaitu hanya sebesar 61,11 dengan presentase ketuntasan sebesar 41%. Namun, pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 66,30 dengan presentase ketuntasan sebesar 56%, dan pada siklus II presentase ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa mencapai 100% dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 81,48. Dengan demikian, mistery box dapat digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran IPS pada materi peristiwa kedatangan bangsa Eropa ke Indonesia dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. One of the reasons for the low learning outcomes of students in social studies learning is that the use of instructional media by teachers is not optimal so that students feel bored in learning. This study aims to determine the use of mystery box learning media in improving student social studies learning outcomes in the subject matter of the arrival of Europeans to Indonesia in grade V. The research method used is classroom action research with a qualitative research approach. The subjects in this study were fifth grade students at SDN Satria Jaya 01. The data collection techniques used were observation, testing and documentation. The research instruments used were observation sheets, tests, and documentation. The results showed an increase in student learning activities observed by researchers in each cycle. In the first cycle of student learning activities with a "Good" assessment indicator there were only 8 aspects with a percentage of 47%, and in the second cycle there was an increase in aspects with a "Good" assessment indicator to as many as 14 reaching a percentage of 82%. As well as an increase in the average value and the percentage of completeness of student learning outcomes. In the pre-cycle the average value of student learning outcomes is very low, namely only 61.11 with a completeness percentage of 41%. However, in cycle I it increased to 66.30 with a completeness percentage of 56%, and in cycle II the percentage of completeness of student learning outcomes reached 100% with an average score of 81.48. Thus, the mystery box can be used as social studies learning media on the subject of the arrival of Europeans to Indonesia in improving student learning outcomes.
